Highlights
Rumor from VideoCardz
3 GPU
6900xt Boost 2330Mhz
6800xt Boost 2250Mhz
6800 Boost 2105Mhz

6900xt will be a FE only.
AIBs haven't been given specs for 6900xt.
OC has potential higher impact to performance do to Infinity Fabric.
6900xt OC very well. Competes very well with RTX 3090
6700 xt 40CU 192bit bus
6700 ??? 36CU, at a guess
Early next year for the 6700 series
States Igor Labs got the power consumption wrong...280watts.
Availiability to be reasonable.

Apparently Nvidia has just cancelled several in development ampere cards.

Hard to read into this, could mean a number of things like

- existing cards are eating all production capacity
- Nvidia doesn't need new cards to compete with amd
- RDNA 2 is so fast Nvidia is shutting down Ampere 8nm production and moving to 7nm or hopper 5nm

One of these two probably. We will find out soon.

I think NVidia are going to need 7nm to compete with some of the upcoming AMD cards.

I have just looked at an EVGA article about an extreme overclocking bios that uses 500W on the FTW3 3090 and they are not even claiming any performance increase.

Some of the new AMD cards are claimed to clock quite a bit higher than Ampere equivalents without draining the national grid.

I don't think AMD will be able to quite beat a 3090 but the rest of the cards in the NVidia 8nm Ampere range are going to be in for a hard time.

What I want to know is, IF AMD even beats every GPU stack including the 3090.

What excuses are the Nvidia fanboys very specifically fanboys, not just people that happened to buy there cards will come up with that will still downplay AMD.

Nice :)

there's surely something between the 3080 and 3090.. how close to 3090 we dont know
but we'd like that to be generally available than AMD making it a showcase...
lets see how it all pans out

Back when NV announced the 3000 series I seem to remember AMD's response being they were looking at revising the power draw on the 6000 series, presumably down as they didn't need to clock the nuts off their's to compete. However, if NV counter AMD's release with something between 3080 and 3090 I suspect AMD would release a 6800 XTX with a revised firmware unlocking more power and higher oc's.

If so it will be interesting if you could get hold of an XTX firmware and flash it to an XT.

Yeah apparently AMD weren't impressed with Ampere, and if people are happy to buy the space heaters that are the 3080 and 3090, AMD can just increase the power limits on their cards to get a bigger lead.

Humbug Get that train rolling, we need to get up to speed.:p
