So if this is to be believed the benchmarks that Lisa Su showed of during the Zen3 briefing could have been that of the 6900XT. Top end SKU.

Which brings us right back to 6800Xt, which will be battling with 3070 by the look of it...

And with RT on 6800XT will be battling with 3060 lol

:D Predictably funny but I really am hoping AMD don’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory this time.

Nvidia know they need a step up lol so have not ramped production as they would be stuck chucking out cards nobody wants.

They will announce something new soon, but it'll be FUD, let's hope amd can deliver.

There's definitely something weird going on

I had all versions on PS4 from launch and both versions of Pro.
I’m not talking about 4-5 heavily polished exclusives they had during 8 years.

you go play AAA third party multiplatform games like Witcher,Red Dead,Far Cry,Assassins,Battlefield, etc etc on PS4 Pro and compare them to a decent PC experience.

the PS4 Pro at 30 fps and bellow feels so sluggish and slow with detail missing make it unenjoyable.

You simply can’t go back from high frame rate ,high detail to even 60fps let alone 25-30 fps on PS4 Pro or Xbox.

I quite happily switch between my PC on a 1440p144hz monitor running at 100fps and console on a 4k TV at 30fps without much issue. We aren't all the same. I enjoy both experiences equally.

Very weak source though, won't pay any attention to that

The wording is a bit suspect.

"The 6800XT can at best be tied to the 3070" right so between the 2080TI and maybe match the 3070 in games that favour AMD most. So slower overall.

"6900XT is expected to catchup with the 3080" so the full fat 80 CU SKU is what it takes to get past the 3070 to be more in line with the 3080.

This is what Igor said before he changed his mind, its a bit hyperbole and the message you want to put out if what you want to say is "there is a problem with RDNA2" which is what the write up is inferring. While at the same time agreeing with the leaked clock speeds, the article agrees with the leaked specifications while at the same time saying "performance is going to be a bit crap because problems"

Well lets see, if the best AMD can do is 6900XT = 3070 <> 3080 then this article is right and every other recent leak is wrong, if the 6900XT is a 3080 <> 3090 the recent leaks are right.

1 Day to go.

Id like to know how anyone knows the performance of the 6900 when only AMD have this card and no AIBs? lol... a lot of leaks are just speculation and rubbish, as i much as i detest his voice, Paul from RGT seems to have somewhat a better hit than miss ration on info

Wording is suspect because its in Chinese. LOL

6900Xt will still be a beast and probably will get one.

How bout a launch price of $799-859?
Will you bite?

No. I'm only upgrading from a 1080Ti for RT. The 3080 just about manages decent 1440p performance. No card is doing 4k well yet. An extra couple of FPS or GB of VRAM isn't going to make a difference. We need a far stronger GPU that is RT focused. So grab a 3080 at launch and move on to Hopper / RDNA3 ASAP.

I did consider the 3090, the price doesn't put me off.

Maybe the card is sound and its just crap drivers? :p

By this time next year with proper drivers the 6900xtx will be faster than 3090 :p

Well certainly if the 80 CU SKU with higher clock speeds and supposedly higher IPC then even if with fairly bad scaling it can't at least match the 3080 there is a regression in per core per clock performance.

+15% clocks, +10% IPC, +100% shaders (+125% GPU) for 65% higher performance to me = a problem, thats about 50% scaling, GPU's don't scale 100%, never.... they scale between about 70% to 90%, so at 80% scaling the actual performance up lift should be 97%. Which would put it 3080 <> 3090.

Except we don't know the limitations using GDDR6X vs large cache pool.

I think this guy is looking at AIB partner cards only and assuming those will be the best full fat 80 CU SKU's, this is what Igore did. Turns out AMD are keeping the full fat 80 CU SKU for themselves..

I can imagine a cut down 72 CU 6900XT at 2.1Ghz AIB card being a match for the 3080 with AMD's exclusive 80 CU at 2.2Ghz (6900XTX?) pushing it a little past the 3080.
