AMD Polaris architecture – GCN 4.0

This will also gain 20% performance compared to it's rivals over the next 6 months a la a company who rewards you for buying with improving software not pushing you towards your next upgrade the second after you buy.
Nvidia improves its drivers plenty for new cards. Please stop your with your drunken pro-AMD/anti-Nvidia rhetoric.

Zen is slower than Ivy so will you be happy paying over the odds for 6 year old speed? They will be charging based on core count vs IPC, so no doubt will be trying to sell them as DX12 gaming chips.

If you want to make the most out of Vega you will need an Intel CPU.

Source please?

please share your sources here Orangy or again you're stating your opinion as Fact without any solid substance.....

Take the ZEN discussion to the CPU forum guys...

14 days til NDA lifts... 14 more days of peaks and troughs of speculation ;)

Good point - we have a decent baseline where 480 should fall with 3D releasing some benches on 470 which looks to be 290+ speed......so its gives a lot of credit to 480 being 980+ in speeds.....and not slower...

Twaddle. We can only go by what AMD have told us and that's 60% IPC improvement over Excavator which puts in Haswell territory and given the almost none existent gains from Broadwell and Skylake will mean Zen will be competitive with those chips as well.

Sorry I know this is a GPU thread but when people post nonsense like this............

Going back to topic it will be interesting to see how well the RX480 overclocks, this only could determine how popular it is amongst enthusiasts given it's already cheap price.

Josh Ray from Unlocked Newegg managed to get close up pics of RX 480 and RX 460 cards.

RX 470 will not be VR ready so RX 480 will be the only VR ready card.

RX 480 8GB will be the only card in stock from 29 June but RX 480 4GB, RX 470 and RX 460 will be in stocks in next few months.

RX is not stand for Radeon 10 but AMD called RX 480 as Radeon Experience 480.

470 actually big unknown about VR as if its as fast as 290 - which its looking to be it would be VR ready.....do you have a source to say 470 not?

460 yea it won't be quite fast enough....even with two....but 470 I think just might be....

just saw the opinion on the guy from newegg....we'll just have to see on the 470.

He's quoting someone who said I think.......as Fact..... *sighs* People really need to stop doing that.....

Sorry I should have been clearer, I know it wasn't AthlonXP1800 who said it, it came from the newegg guy originally, I was just saying if it turns out to be true then it doesn't bode well for massive stock levels, that we would all like to see. In turn this might lead to more price gouging from the distribution network. which I fairly sure we can all agree is a bad thing.

that we both agree on - but other sources have sounded that AMD should have a large build up of stock for launch.......again its a wait and see

If this is true then my interest level just went from a 10 to a 0, I was only interested in the 4gb model...

Again - we don't know - there's been one source that's gone I believe on stock; several other sources stated AMD should have a large amount of stock built of for this launch......its a wait and see for now
