AMD R9 290 (Non-X, Pro, etc) Owners Club

There used to be a bug with black screens, try downclocking the memory to 1250MHz.

You can do it in the control panel or with MSI Afterburner.

Might be a silly question, might not be...

I've got a Sapphire R9 290 TRI-X making it's way to me, does it light up at all? If so, what colour?

The HDD cage looks to be riveted in place and we have nothing to get it out. I'm more than willing to go at it with a saw but it would mean taking the CPU and everything out with metal flakes flying everywhere.

I've bought my new case and will just have to wait 3 weeks until I can buy my new CPU & motherboard to put it all together

You've got more will power than I will ever have! I couldn't do that. I'd be ripping that case to bits to get it fitted!!

I want to! But it was 9pm at night and that's not the time to be starting lol

Plus new case is on the way and I don't want to put everything into the new case only to take it out again when I buy all the new parts. Far too much faffing :p

I love doing that, if I could swap parts out often I so would. I'll build it for you, can't promise it'll work though ;)

Haha, it only just about works when I do it anyway so go for it! :p If I can be using it while you're building it too that'd be a bonus, can't be without it even when it's not built yet lol

rotflmao Bexx; I made the same mistake; main pci-e slot; the cage won't move; but second pce-e slot; the hd cage will.....so guess where PCS+ 290 is......with hd cage partly out :D

Works until new parts come; since I'm ordering a new case; figured might as well build a new system and keep old one *which kills selling off some of the old parts to pay for new parts thingie; but son is happy* LOL

The wait for the new Intel build will, and is, killing me. But the point was that even a new card in my current system would show a substantial improvement. There's just no way of fitting it save hacksawing lol
