I assume he means games that make full use of the next generation of API's, the kind of game that would run into massive CPU bottlenecks (like Star Swarm on AMD cards).

I bet DX12 actually runs like a dog and is very demanding on GPU grunt to run all the bells and whistles that come with it.

I hope I am wrong but I am prepared for the worst.

By the time they get DX12 games fully functional you will probably have 4 new GPUs anyway

They had to shut it down due to the 290's being released, Now they have faded somewhat/jumped to 970's/80's they got the go ahead to switch it back on

I think it'll be much better than DX11, but reliable sources say that MS & NVIDIA are colluding to make various features exclusive (to punish AMD / Khronos), and generally gimp it. Plus it's Microsoft.

Vulkan looks genuinely exciting, and doesn't come with any attendant walled garden. I really hope it becomes the target API for all devs beyond the influence of MS/NVIDIA tendrils.
