Amd Radeon next move?

What's going to make me laugh is when amd mantle is the major player and direct x dies out. A 980 would make a good paper weight. Expensive one though :D

pass the bong. it really does puzzle me sometimes amd aren't king.

DX will be stronger and has more coverage.

all mantle did is get in a deal with DICE get frostbroke engine games to not work on there Saviour to gaming.

no other great titles apart from frostbroke.

how can that change gaming ? it cant. forget hype the biggest player is DX .

Well, maybe we should get all the biggest fanboys from both camps to become vendor reps.

That way I think it would be far more pleasant in the gpu section :)

Yeah, that's not going to happen.

Has anyone here ever worked in/around the silicon business? Would be good to get some insight on this:

Have Apple really bought up all the 20nm wafers? Perhaps AMD got some orders in and that 28HPM die leaked on Anands is something else other than a flagship?

We're at the point now where they could at least paper launch Pirate Islands 20nm surely? Apple have been running their designs through TSMC for 6 months now and they don't have anywhere near the yield problems AMD/NV do with huge dies. Not to mention the 14xm process over at GloFo must be almost out of risk production.

Being an AMD rep isn't just about coming onto these forums lol
Maybe his work load is more now so his time spent on here is much less because of his job role.

It would seem he has a "proper job" with AMD as a Community Manager and is the official AMD Rep on this forum.

Being a member of the OcUK community probably went a long way towards him getting the job but he seems to have taken a back seat now he has it.

I'm here to help you in any way I can guys. Please feel free to send me a private message (trust) with any thoughts, comments, issues and ideas you may have. I will be reading threads, asking questions and participating as much as possible. :)

We'll see how that goes.

I assume he's on other sites aside from this one. :)

No different than before then.

what can LTMatt tell you that you dont already know, because AMD are clearly in retreat.

the only thing AMD can do is to drop their prices and to really scare Nvidia, they need to drop the price of the 295x2 a very long way..... last months price is too high, it needs to be £550

295x2 was a limited run , iirc gibbo's deal's on them was to clear out the last of them so dont expect more price cuts on them as i doubt there is many/any left
