We never used to think it would kill Titan. Then we had a glimmer of hope with the first Chinese benchmark. Then a couple of more leaks surfaced and it seemed like it really was built to kill Titan.

Now we're in the same old predicament of launch drivers. :p

I wonder if anyone is like me hoping that the 290X at launch is able to beat Titan with "crappy launch driver", and that we will get EVEN MORE performance with driver updates 6 months down the line like how we did with the 12.11 driver for the 7000 series cards? :p

I hope the launch drivers aren't poor, as the reviews for 670s and 680s claim they're faster cards than the 7970 when it was all due to rubbish launch drivers, and that's what people still read now.

That and gpu boost, inflating benchmark scores.
 
Not sure what cards these are. Posted by an AMD PR guy on rage3d. The new 7970ghz ala 280X cards, maybe??
