AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

Perhaps the 290X will be launched the same time as Mantle lol.

The real point is AMD have made a real pigs ear of this launch and done themselves no favours.

There be murders.... :o

AMD are well aware that Nvidia have about 7% performance in hand if they want to release a full fat GK110 Titan Ultra.

I think AMD don't really know what to do, AMD know they have a solid card, but i think they want to be sure that they look good in reviews.
With Nvidia announcing an un-named un-spesifyed new GPU AMD are waiting to see if they need to make any last minute tweaks.

Remember the Original 7950? 800Mhz and lost to a GTX 660TI because they just clocked it far to low, so it looked slow in reviews and i'm pretty sure that hit sales badly, a lesson learned perhaps?

If Nvidia come up with a Titan Ultra AMD may think they can beat it with a bit more tweaking.

29th :o Gutted.

Actually AMD, that's crap if it turns out to be true. I was hoping that they would release it sooner with a nice new set of drivers and if any game destroying bugs were discovered, they could be fixed with a hotfix driver.

October 29th is the release date for Battlefield 4 so to me this makes perfect sense, plus on top of that what Humbug said above, Keeping all angles coverd :)

So BF4 on the 29th and the 290X on the 31st. I hope at least they allow the pre order guys access to the BF4 game prior to the cards release, as 2 days is a long time in the online fps time for peeps to start owning :D

It could just be any date put up, as the ETA was when Gibbo made comments about no date set yet.

Quite incidental that OCUK's 31st is so close to the 29th.

Utterly hilarious that AMD have done this too, I couldn't be anymore disappointed.

Mydurs....

Let's hope not as that will delay it even longer, all them cards to reflash. I think they are just not ready, way to late to meet the 31st and start changing things. Don't the cards come by boat?
