Depends if there is a card in the second 16X slot I guess, could be any card not just a 2nd in Crossfire to make the main 16X slot drop to 8X

I have a slight advantage when it comes to choice as I do not mind what the aesthetics are like as I'm not that kind of modder. 1500 at that res doesn't seem great, cannot see cpu though. I get 1500+ on my GTX 780, it shows it beats that on the charts but then has a rubbish Heaven score :/ Not really adding up for me tbh.

AMD Radeon R9 290X Possibly 'Delayed' until October 24th

It is past midnight on the west coast, but there is no sign of the AMD R9 290x reviews that were rumored to hit the net today. According to new rumors it is likely we won’t see the AMD R9 290x for another few weeks, as the launch date has been moved to October 24th.

40% fan speed. From memory of the stock cooler the fan starts to get noticeable past 50% and loud past 60%.

Heaven score is beyond rubbish, windowed mode at that res. Only excuse is if it's an old CPu and even then.. Won't get drawn in by anything until I see 'proper' review. I get a feeling it will be close to GTX 780 but with a better price point.
