Ow dear. If this review is anything to go by. I had high hopes for this card.
You would have thought AMD would have learnt from Nvidia's mistake with the gtx480.
Time to recycle all the old gtx toaster/power station jokes.

Damn... looks like a good 780 overclocked is the deal if that review is true....

I am questioning how far a 290X can go if it's so hot and power hungry already....

edit: lol my rig already makes the room feel like summer in winter. what would the 290x make it....

I guess its time for AMD to release the proper reviews before too many of us get scared off ... I'm teetering on the edge - I hate re-brands but a Toxic 280x takes my fancy

Based on the leaks so far it's looking very much like that at stock the 290X trades blows with the Titan, but.. We all know that when overclocked the 780 can surpass the Titan. Considering most 780's are good for 1250mhz+ on the core, and Kepler being more power efficient, I would say Nvidia still have the edge here. These leaks are to be taken with pinch of salt though.

I remember my 4870's used to deafen me when gaming. If these run this hot, then the fans are going to need to be in freight train mode.

Think this will be one to avoid in the 'reference' format for sure.

All Nvidia have to do is release a full GK110 part to occupy the current Titan retail space $1000, bump down the original Titan $749 and GTX 780 $499 and AMD would be snookered..
