AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

Based on the leaks so far it's looking very much like that at stock the 290X trades blows with the Titan, but.. We all know that when overclocked the 780 can surpass the Titan. Considering most 780's are good for 1250mhz+ on the core, and Kepler being more power efficient, I would say Nvidia still have the edge here. These leaks are to be taken with pinch of salt though.

Nvidia is in a world where they have to change markets.
they lost the gaming arena and a console with steam wont save them.
its all slowly happening right now.

Somebody call 911, we've got a Radeon fire on the dance floor.... Geez, I could have sworn that stock cooling was supposed to be a new found focus
for AMD especially after NVIDIA spoiled us with those sexy 780 and titan coolers.
Also, rather lackluster performance; a new architecture and 8 months after NVIDIA launched their "top card" and AMD is only matching performance.
Drivers can only do so much and I doubt that we will see any substantial gains arising from more mature 290 series drivers so that only leaves mantle... Hopefully it isn't all hype
:D

All Nvidia have to do is release a full GK110 part to occupy the current Titan retail space $1000, bump down the original Titan $749 and GTX 780 $499 and AMD would be snookered..

oh want to pay even more money for a even a minor upgrade.
superb plan. 290 series still be the better choice for multi gpu set ups.

I really don't think Nvidia have lost anything. A few 'fixer' adverts and console GPU's and people seem to think AMD rule gaming.

Nvidia made a fortune in 2013, will in 2014 as well. If Nvidia lower prices I think actually AMD could struggle to sell these. Nvidia can probably afford to go lower on the price based on these cards being out for x amount of months already..

Yer, better to wait for some English sauces, as there is a lot at steak here :D

Can someone run a 7970 1600 x 900 heaven 4 bench @ 1050 / 1250.

at 1920 x 1080P i'm getting ~800 points with my 7870XT, at 1600 x 900 about 930, thats + 15%

+15% = 1053, 1500 would be about +45%

Here we go.

I think if they even did this, they would have to have the clocks so low because of the heat problems, it just wouldn't be viable or worth it. The Titan chip is pretty crammed already and enabling all 16 SMX units would need lower clocks and just would not have any headroom.

@ Orangey

Thanks mate, I see that went over a few heads :D

It'll be on the 7 series cards as well.

With AMD in all the consoles Nvidia can only but produce more powerful cards costing less and show the world that Nvidia hold the crown for best graphics hardware in the world.
