Unless you say a 780 beats Titan right?

Linus review is also overclocked vs overclocked, would be nice to know the clockspeeds of both.
Unless they're overclocked on the same cooler, it can't be compared really.
Why? Unless the card is throttling then it makes no difference. Most of his reviews are average overclock vs average overclock, the biggest difference in the coming months will be potential driver improvements from AMD.
Is the 290X better than the 780 @1080p? Reviews are mixed.

To quote a rusty. Fag paper between them at 1080p. 290X pulls clear at 1440p or higher, but its still close. At 4k the 290x is clearly faster than 780/titan.
I'm sounding like a broken record, but the driver thing is very important Launch vs tuned mature drivers means AMD's results are at their worst possible now.

Jakus what card are you currently using?

True. 99% of reviews say the 290X is faster than the 780/titan overall and much cheaper. Only cherry picked reviews or benchmarks will show otherwise. The 780/Titan also offer other benefits which have been well documented but on pure performance the 290X is now the fastest. The 290X will get faster as well as drivers mature and overclocking becomes possible.

Sometimes I think we should all just build two systems- one with AMD graphic in a standard high-airflow case, and one with Nvidia graphic in a custom Batmobile case (1:1 scale ), and got room for you to sit and game in itIf they were both the same price, I'd probably have the 780 purely for the Batsmoke.
As I type this, Asus 780 Direct CU ..why do you ask ?
Yup. At the moment there's nothing between a 290X and 780 at 1080p, but the 290X only has improvements to come while the 780 is already at its peak. So even at its worst as it is now, the 290X is at least as good as a 780 at 1080p, and notably better at higher resolutions.
Bring on the R290X2 dual gpu version
