AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

Been a while since I bought a new graphics card. Generally how long after launch does it take before we start seeing cards with fancy coolers attached to them?

I really don't fancy buying a new card with a stock AMD jet engine cooler. :p

Putting my 780 up for sale right now, AMDs new cards are going to murder Nvidias 700 series.

Really? You might only be looking at 5% more performance, and lose Physx.. Is it really worth the hassle?

I'll switch if Hawaii is 15% - 20% faster, I'm talking Max OC VS Max OC. Otherwise it's just not really worth the hassle of switching.

wonder how much margin Nvidia has on the 780s - wonder if they could do a surprise move of a decent price cut ?

all depends on the AMD price

I mean 580s weren't anywhere near that expensive after initial launch, and they had 384bit memory bus, large die etc
