AMD Radeon R9 295X2 Owners Thread

Ordered the red hose clamps. Been a while now, still not arrived.
Will place the rad at the rear now, with 2 of those fans Matt has.

I like to copy the best setups :D
Lovely looking well built fans in person.

Roll on Monday for when I get back home.
I think my pc needs my tlc, the missus will understand :D

Nice thing is, she never moans at me for having a crazy hobby like this, unlike the last gf :p

The last gf, it was a case of her or the pc, I wonder what she's doing now :D

I get moaned at for buying parts all the time. This is the best solution I've found.

Did it go into window mode or something? Sounds like crossfire wasn't kicking in.

Possibly maybe the heaven got confused....

The old gf had to go for greater good... :D that's how it is, the clams comes with 1st class RM and i got them next day...so maybe drop them an email...I had an email conversation about those clamps prior to the purchase and the bloke was fairly helpful.

Are you getting the noctura fans ? or the SP 120 ?

Connected my 295x2 to my main loop. no more throttling now ;)
will post pics soon...

A lot please ! how much did you pay for the gpu block ?

I've just noticed something worrying.
Last night I had a power cut. Lasted about 1 second, so it was literally off, then on. When I got back to my desktop, I noticed every so often my screen would flicker. Happens in games too. Playing CSGO it will occasionally glitch out of a split second. It's seems like texture corruption. It happens, I would say, once every 10 minutes or so, for a split second.
I hope that powercut hasn't damaged my card.

For power cuts the first point of failure should be PSU, and that should protect the equipment, however even if very unlikely is it possible it can be the monitor ?

Hopefully it's ok.

Why don't you try deleting the driver with clean install. Might of corrupted the drivers? Worth a try.

Yeah I did this, it seems like it might have fixed it, but im not certain yet. I'll update later once I've had a few hours on CS GO
Loque could be an overlay issue or something, do you have afterburner or origin overlay running?
I don't use any overlays, except obviously the Steam overlay

Just played for an hour, and the issue is still there :( My screen actually blanked for a split second on multiple occasions, and on other occasions im getting like a think band of static going across the screen for a split second. I think the powercut has damaged my card :'(

Heres a mockup I made to show whats happening:

I've read on AMD's forums that a low quality Displayport cable can also cause screen flicker. So i've bought a higher quality cable. One of those stupid overpriced Monster cables. See if it makes a difference. Makes no sense that this issue only appeared after the power cut though. I have noticed that the issue doesn't seem to occur on my secondary monitor which is connected via DVI, which suggests that it is the Displayport cable that is at fault.

That's a bugger mate, sorry to hear that.

Maybe time to RMA The card

Having now spent a week using QuadFire 295x2's, I'm sold on the AIO cooling design. It's weird having so much power and yet having my computer operating in relative silence without spending large amounts of money on proper water cooling.

Dual 295x2

Well yesterday my 295x2 arrived from Overclockers. So far I've only opened the box, but wow. This is one badass card. :D

I'm waiting for my sp120 fan to arrive to replace the existing radiator fan to match my colour scheme. I was going to use the 7v downvolt cable attached to the 2 pin fan adapter on the gpu. Do you think this will work? (Amperage seems okay, just not sure about voltage)

I use 2x sp120's off the 2 pin GPU fan header.

I've seen a few people with that, good temps but bet it's loud.

Have you used the 7v downvolt cable, that's what I'm not sure about. Hoping it doesn't cause problems.

loud... errrm no! certainly isn't with those fans I can tell you.

I'd advise not to use the downvolt cable, 1. you don't need to and 2. you'll only keep the temps up on the card (add ing the fans is to keep the temps down no?) so you may as well stick with the original fan (which to be very honest does a very good job anyway) than add additional fans and downvolt!
