AMD Radeon R9 295X2 Owners Thread

loud... errrm no! certainly isn't with those fans I can tell you.

I'd advise not to use the downvolt cable, 1. you don't need to and 2. you'll only keep the temps up on the card (add ing the fans is to keep the temps down no?) so you may as well stick with the original fan (which to be very honest does a very good job anyway) than add additional fans and downvolt!

Well loud is subjective, I'm talking about the sp120 high performance, which others have complained as being too loud.

Main reason for fan replacement is for looks not temp. Will probably try with and without the 7v adapter though. (Assuming it's fine to use the 7v adapter?)

i was thinking of getting an r9 295x2 but wondering if the xfx one has samsung, hynix or elpida memory?

ALL 295x2 has Hynix memory as they're reference design. :)

I've sampled three 295x2's and they've all done 1650Mhz (minimum) on the memory whilst undervolted by at least -0.060v. On Vesuvius the memory voltage is not tied to the core voltage.

Andy matt i was thinking of getting 3x acer 24 inch monitors 2560x1440 monitors.
can i use mini dp to dp cables on all 3 monitors. would this work.
do you think a custom cooled 295x2 would work.

Should do Daz. :)

In other news, I picked up a H110 GT from OcuK, got a red led on it to match the Radeon leds. Day time pics look better though as the red leds get overpowering at night without the phone flash on.

Nice.
How does that H110 GT compare to you're old one mate.
You running 2 or 4 140's fans on the rad.
I wonder what difference the H110 GT will be compared to my Raijintek Triton AIO.

So what clocks and undervolts did u settle for on both cards.

Also mate, would u say having the rad on the front on the case drawing air in, on at the rear drawing air out is best.

Cheers Matt.

It's an improvement on my H110 for sure, but i expect the Triton may top it at lower speed. Not sure though. Either way, the H110 GT is the best looking and performing Corsair AIO yet. I don't bother with Corsair link, i prefer AI Suite to manage fan speeds. :)

I can run both my 295's at -0.060v. One of them will do -0.080v, but the other is not quite so good. I highly recommend undervolting as you can still whack the memory up to 1625Mhz without issue.

If you have two in your case, best to have one sucking in and one blowing out. If you look at mine, the bottom one (sucking in) below it i have two 120mm fans sucking out the heat underneath the 750D. Works very well i find. The 750D is a perfect case for Quad 295's. :)

This pic was taken before i added the H100i GT, but you can see the two bottom fans exhaust the intake heat the bottom 295 chucks in the case. ;)

I would like to undervolt my card again, but I can't find any AB (4.1.0) settings which will unlock the voltage, and can't find any info online. :( Any ideas?

I liked the AI Suite. as i had to change to a Gigabyte board, the fan software isn't great. so ordered a fan controller.

As i use 1 295x2 and 1x msi lightening in a 760t case.
would you still think running the rad at the front with air sucking in, and the bottom case fan sucking air out?

or have it at the rear? and have 2x140 noctua case fans running at the front on the case?

Love you matt :D

Try both mate and see which works better. Sucking in = cooler core at the expense of higher case/cpu/VRM temps.

Matt, that Hydro H110i GT V H100i, is there a marked improvement or just a few c difference?

As Iv'e had mine longer than yours, don't want a leakage occuring so it's maybe time to get shot, idk.

I saw a improvement over my H110, which is a improvement over the H100i. I wouldn't expect miracles though. The GT just has a better look and much thicker, better looking pipes. The Radiator is 280mm vs the i's 240mm, so it should be better. :)

SP120 arrived this morning, replaced the existing fan on the rad and tried it with the 7v adapter and it didn't start.

At work at the moment so cant test to see if its the adapter or fan that's not working.

Anyone have any experience running a 7v adapter of the gpu fan header? Perhaps that is the issue?
