So basically AMD are going to over price the new cards and to compensate they are just increasing the prices of their competing cards.
No incentive what so ever for NVidia to reduce prices to compete, if the competitor is just going to raise their prices to match yours.

These new 5500 series seem to be a bit of a damp squib from the leaks so far.

The only time it seems to be near the 1660 is with BFV which is always massively in favor of AMD cards. Most other times the 160 dollar 1650 super is beating or on par with it. If you look at the evga super version that oc's veryyy well on the memory and is almost on par itself with the 1660!!

There is not a chance in hell I will be paying 200 or more for a 5500 xt unless it somehow throws out some magic perf beans to warrant it.

Quoted from a video card website: "The Radeon RX 5500 XT will be available with two memory options. We have confirmed that the 4GB model will retail at around 169 USD and an 8GB variant will cost at least 199 USD. That is a bit more than we expected, considering how much cheaper Polaris series have become."

the 4gb card looks like it be a good bang for buck the 8gb at its pricing is not. you get a good 20% more performance with e 1660 super for not much more. with my quick glance
