AMD RX 3000 series

hehe, and just how was Gibbo suppose to order in some cards that don't exist yet. come on be realistic.

Retailers would hate these prices. Less profit for them ;) I'd bite at 1080ti performance £300. Probably not going to happen so no one will get my money!

The general strategy makes sense though. There is a huge gap in the market at the moment regarding decent 1440p performance for sensible money. Most "normal" people consider £500 for one PC part crazy when it devalues rapidly and lasts just a few years.

So if AMD release in January they hit retail in February?

They won't be releasing anything in January!
At most they will give a preview at CES, then maybe a product release in Computex with on shelf in August/September timeframe.

Well who knows, we might have 15% on the £300 product, but only 5% on the £1000 item.

We'd rather sell 10,000 £300 cards with 15%, than say 1000 £1000 cards with 5% profit!

The more transactions we do, the larger our customer base and all that and when it comes to AMD OcUK typically always leads the way by a country mile. :)

Good to know the rainforest has some competition ;)

As far as I heard, the rainforest is not a good employer, at least in Germany, where they even did the sin to decrease the wages
I don't like the rainforest..

I wouldn't disagree but I was thinking more from a consumer's point if view. All things being equal I prefer to use OCUK, in fact I'm just about to order some stuff :D

I took a job at their place in Luton back in about 2005. It was pretty bad, so bad I just didn't bother going back the 2nd week and took another job.

The way they were treating the workers was pretty shocking and definitely not legal. I suspect quite a few of their workers were not legal either!

Maybe it's improved now, but I doubt it. Their CEO is currently the richest man in the world which says it all really. He could easily afford to pay ALL his staff a very good wage, but I guess over 100 billion for himself somehow isn't enough.

The thing is if he paid all his staff a very good wage, he wouldn't be the richest man in the world.;)

Why no chance, if was coming in January we would have ordered them now and have them setup in the background, right now no such product or any new product from AMD exist.

So what's the timeline from rumoured graphics card, to it being announced, to you ordering them, to you receiving them, to you having them live on pre-order???

Why all the crazy deals on AMD cards recently?

Because AMD have an opportunity to win market share, not like RTX is getting an easy run and the high demand Pascal stuff is near as dammit all sold out, so I guess AMD are seeing an opportunity to win share. ;)
All I can say is were selling a lot more AMD cards at present, the deals are working very well, but the games bundle really also won it for them big time.

Some luck, some strategy and good timing on AMD's part. :)
