Already addressing idle power issues. Apparently AMD devs are working over the holiday to get over the performance issues they were having in the launch.

It's always for Christmas and also, frankly speaking, there will always be bugs in software that you will never catch till it's live and lots of people test them on lots of different configurations. The sensible thing would have been for AMD to delay the launch a month. Allow the driver teams time to fix all the launch bugs, power draw etc. The reviews would have been much better, customers would have IMO been happier.
Brave folks effectively paying to be a beta tester for AMD - it shouldn't be this way.
No doubt some genius at AMD insisted these are available before Christmas, no matter if it damages AMD's long term reputation/mindshare.

It's why I keep buying stuff from here, even for things that can be found cheaper elsewhere.
- Publicly interacting with customers.
- Allowing criticism.
- Being willing to put numbers on things like margins.
- Explicitly allowing returns for coil whine.
- Supplying Harribo to everyone. EVERYONE.
I always had fun with AMD cards, though the past 2 gens do not seem to like my PC that much and the moment it stops me actually working, it's bad. But that aside, always liked how AMD drivers improve over time, with big speeds up etc. NVIDIA fixes some bugs, but their drivers are mostly boring - I remember only one actual speed up (quite recently), but that was it.And miss Christmas!!!!
In fairness for me half the fun is getting to play and tweak new hardware, finding issues and then fixing them and getting big performance boost with driver updates, starts to make the purchase feel less guilty.
