Stress testig isnt always the (only) way to go. At least classic testing like Prime and 3d Mark for mainly GPU benching.Could be seen as overkill but would keep my mind at ease.
At the end of the day, that Prime torture test is getting your system to crunch some numbers and comparing the results against known correct results. If its generating incorrect results to mathematical functions, then I'm not going to be happy its reliable.
Ignoring it is personal preference I suppose and depends what your risk appetite is like.
I want a 100% rock solid undervolt, so I'm not prepared to ignore it.
There's only a few cores to test, but yes its a bit time consuming.I can see how some folk can go down a deep, dark hole with undervolting and testing each core to find the stable setting for each core.
If I was 20 years younger, with free time on my hands and living at home using my parents electricity, then I definitely would.
I'll be joining this gang next week, can add the 3900x to 'list of things I need to get rid of' and then play with this undervolting malarkey!
Is up under gaming you are having issues or general idle?Well had BSOD last night. So obviously -25 isn't stable either. Will try -20.
Gaming hard, many thing open, streams etcIs up under gaming you are having issues or general idle?
I'm running -30 with no issues so far. I've run a number of stress tests and games and seems to be stable. Same wth my son's PC "MSI A-Pro X570 and 5700XT GPU).How common is it for people to get -30 on all cores? I got my 5800x3d 2 weeks ago and just did -30 off the bat and not had any issues. I have not extensively tested but ran OCCT a few times, 3dmark testing and played a few games etc. temps get to around 81 with room temp of 22c when running Cinebench and Prime95.
Not had any issues yet, ran Cinebench for an hour with no issues max temp of 73c that's stable enough for me.How common is it for people to get -30 on all cores? Is it better that a 5950X though (if they’re same price)No AMD guru to be fair, but is it better than the 20 quid cheaper 5900X?
