AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

-26 is stable for me at the moment. Ran Prime small FFT overnight and 2 hours of gaming prior to that. Gives me confidence that it's stable.

Now i know -28 failed so do I try -27? To be fair, don't think it's going to make much difference so I'm just going to leave as is and enjoy my system now.
ive not stress tested mine at all, its never crashed or given me any hint of problems in games, I used to use prime, but I dont need a computer to design rocket ships, to me its just a lot of heat and noise over nothing.

Do you have any custom PPT, EDC etc settings in the bios for your chip ?

Nope.

Prior to installing 5800X3D, I updated BIOS, installed new CPU then loaded optimised settings (which sets everything to default).

I've not actually gone back into the BIOS to see what I can play around with (if anything).

Be interesting to see if my tight ass ram timings hold up with a 5800X3D.
Ordered with delivery tomorrow, £360 but at least its guaranteed tomorrow instead of “awaiting picking”

I've always just done the spread method since starting building PCs nearly two decades ago.
I just feel an even coat ensures all areas are covered.
Thinking about it i've done pea blob, X, even spread and some random H shaped pattern on a random intel chip years ago.
I never really concluded which was the best so will probably go with X (just because its easier)

I'm sure there were videos on Youtube of each one tested. Can't remember the results. Probably much and such the same for each one.
I'm pretty tempted to pull the trigger on this CPU as can get it for £300 delivered with my voucher. I'll perhaps wait it out another week for official black friday/cyber monday and see what happens then.

Has anyone tried undervolting in bios by ~50mV?

Seen here at 2:44

When PBO2 Tuner is used and an offset of say -20 for each core is applied, what exactly is '20'?

I've found the CPU offset volts in my bios...

Can suppliers change their 'Was' price to anthing they want?
Yeah, it’s not the most honest practice but it’s common and allowed. Provided your ‘was‘ price was a previous price then you can display that. I work in kitchenware and we do the same thing with our pots and pans.

Sure, this casserole dish might have been 189 last month and we showed it as ‘was 250‘ but if it’s original SRP was 299 then next month we may say ’now 239, was 299’.

Yep and this is what drives most black friday madness - they'll have products that were £400 for 90% of the year, but was £450 for 5 days, which actually dropped to £300 at some point last christmas, then for black friday put it as 'Was £450, now £390!!' and you're not really getting a deal at all.
