AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

Out of interest, does anyone have Warzone 2, a 5800X3D and a 4090? Do they generally see ~5ms CPU time and ~5ms GPU time or GPU time still higher, meaning a better GPU could increase fps

I have these but done know how to get the OSD metrics to display as i could give it whirl for you.

As ive just ordered a 7950X so my 5800X3D will be going on the MM in the next week.

In options in telemetry. There's FPS, latency, packet loss and some other options available

You not holding out for 7800X3D or 7950X3D? For productivity the 7950X will be killer but gaming wise I thought there wasnt much in it between the 9950X and 5800X3D

Ok will give it a whirl, and yeah im gonna get one of those also but will keep this for my converting rig as i have around 100 blurays and 4k blurays to convert and apparently cpu encoding is better than cuda on my 4090.

Half the cores, less power usage and in some cases giving up on 1GHz of clock speed.

If I was thinking of upgrading to an AM5 platform, I'd be waiting for confirmation of 3D cache versions!

I was looking at doing this too, but going for the 7900X, however, the chip price might of come down.....I think due to the cost of living crisis, not many people are buying those sort of things, sales are down........however, the board I would want to go with it is still stupid priced, ASUS X670E Gene, but to be honest, theres no point going B650 as it doesnt bring anything new to the table that my X570 cant do, and there's no 670 boards under £300, they are all stupid priced, even the budget X670 boards.

Black friday is a con. Retailers were selling these chips for £325-£350 10 days ago. Now most retailers are selling them for £399. Expect them to be reduced tomorrow back to their proper price of £350 under the banner of "HOOOGE DISCOUNT"

I agree but I'd rather not pay the inflated price unless it's here to stay due to shortages and demand. Fingers crossed :D

Not seeing any HOOOGE DISCOUNT :(
Not surprised.
no one’s going to heavily discount a product that’s in high demand after a wave of good reviews.

The time to buy would have been at £300, but that was before all the shining reviews and info on PBOTuner2, Kombo strike and chip potential. I can’t see it coming down much lower that £339.99 any time soon.
Even used, second hand they sell for £330-£370.

I could be wrong of course if a load more were manufactured.

Doubt I will be buying it at current price or price before, I think it would need to dip to £300~ before I seriously consider it now. Its not as if the 5800X is a slouch anyway and not causing me any issues. More of a new shiny shiny unneeded purchase really.

Is anyone running this chip on a smaller or older heatsink without throttling?

I'm tempted to replace my 3600x but have an ancient corsair h110i original aio. Which is a slimline(27mm) 280mm rad, can't fit anything bigger in the current case though. Not convinced it'll be able to keep up.

Think I saw them for 300 for a short while but 350 has been the price I've seen when checking.
