AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

He's got 9% more. With faster ram and PBO settings that sounds about right.
I just tried PBO -20 and eventhough I got 400 more points in Cinebench R23 multicore (14970 compared to 14560), in Cyberpunk average I had 2fps less :D

I think I will just leave it default and stop caring.

Not really, you may find your kit can overclock to 3600 16 16 16 16 32 48 1T 1.35v
Give it a try. But you may need to Clear CMOS if you run into a stuck loop.
I wish it would but unfortunately I can barely get it to run at 3200 :( It loops a couple of times and then eventually boots and is stable once it's up but the intial power on has me stumped.

I assume with 4090 this means that GPU is not fully utilized in 1080p and you are testing only CPU right?
I have 3080Ti so I ran the test in 720p to also eliminate GPU as a bottleneck, and I got 184fps, compared to yours 200.
I have 3200 CL14 1T memory (using XMP profile). Could 3200 compared to 3600 really mean 16fps difference?
Or maybe it is due to me not doing the PBO -30 undervolt thing?
I assume you had the "crowd density" setting at high?

You as well, crowd density is set to high I assume?

I got 173fps average in 1080p, with 3080Ti.
Yep, crowd density high. I selected the ‘high’ preset.

Maybe try 3600C16. I would have thought that would work with 3200C14 memory.

Already sold my 5800X and spare 32GB RAM I had kicking about so only a £50 upgrade in reality for me.

me too, if my missus ever finds out how much PC parts cost...
Confession time, Mine would actually murder me if she found out I was ordering PC parts while she was in active labour...Best not tell her then!

Now the key to this, is to treat her too. Mine found out last night that I bought the Quest Pro, she was like "How much did that cost?" Urm I don't want to say... She said "£500? - £700? £1000!!?" Then says "What is it called again?" as she goes and Googles it... "£1500!!!!! What do I get??" Oh, urmm, would you like some Switch games? :D - Go on then, as I add £100 of games to a cart...

We had already decided that I would take her away to somewhere of her choice once he had arrived before purchasing this even entered my head.
Joking aside, She probably wouldn't care as we were there for hours and she was doing work stuff until the contractions became a bit much.

don't these do 1.48v safely? that's certainly what mine is running at. I would up it and see how you find it. here are my 3600/14 timings, at 1.48v, i dialed straight in and left them:

how many sticks do you have?

I have 2 sticks of 8GB SR.

Tried these settings and now it won't post. Probably need to reseat the RAM or get it to return to default settings.

This is why I dislike messing with memory settings. Too finicky for the amount of time I have availabile.

Did you use Thaiphoon to download your Memory XMP and then import it to DRAM Calculator?

You guys are doing it wrong.
Step 1. Buy new items for self
Step 2. If she asks, say “best getting it now and selling old parts before they are worthless”
Step 3. Buy a joint present you can both enjoy. Most recently it was a duo electric toothbrush set. We needed new toothbrushes because the batteries were rubbish and last 2 days max.

It seems I have a lot to learn!

And the endless upgrade cycle begins. X3D is on the way and I'm looking at a new cooler, which means new case. A new case means this old case and cpu can be reused. Which means a new psu, mobo, memory is required. :D
Don’t cheap out on case. Phanteks are great and not too expensive. I’ve got this, £110

That I do agree with. Using the original phanteks evolv matx case currently and for looks it's right up there. Looking at new cases and I'm a bit surprised at how many don't have more space at the top for thicker radiators considering how popular water / aio's are. Need 68mm for the Liquid Freezer 280. Overhanging the mobo isn't terrible but the 8pin cpu cable is right up in that corner of the mobo. And sticks out quite far before being bent around and behind the case.

I have the links bookmarked for the -30 stuff for the chip. My only question to myself is do I try it with the cooler that won't be enough or just wait for all the new parts to arrive :)

I’m not too bothered about looks, rather functionality.
In my case, dual 8 pin cpu connectors (top left) - https://asset.msi.com/resize/image/....png62405b38c58fe0f07fcef2367d8a9ba1/1024.png

Depends how long the new parts take to arrive! If 2 weeks, I would use the current cooler now. If next day delivery, then wait :)

I had same problem. Phanteks P500a case with the 280 fits perfectly just stick it in the front! I put my 360 in the roof.

Could PBOTuner2 be used to set -30 on all cores except say 1 or 2 ‘best’ cores where +20 or +30 is set to hopefully boost single core performance?
My idea is 4450Mhz all core boost and single core 4700Mhz boost
