AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

I was joking obviously....
Turns out it wasn't so obvious, maybe next time try hitting me over the head with a hammer. (or at least including an emote). :)
but nevertheless I would expect OCUK to honour the offer and if it is correct it has to be redeemed on AMD's website then thats great and maybe OCUK should be a little clearer on such offers to avoid upsetting customers
I would expect OCUK to honour the offer also but like you say without it being on the product page it's about as clear as week old dishwater, it would certainly save a lot of hassle if it was a little clearer.

I know i'm hammering on about this (apologies) but OCUK have it here with a bundle too

@Gibbo can you confirm please? You're shipping out Uncharted codes with the 5800x3d right? I'd hate to think i bought mine from the wrong place...

Hi DAve,

Check you emails from OCUK;

looks like this

Dear **********,

Thank you for your qualifying AMD device purchase. Your AMD token code is *******************

Please ensure that you are following the redemption process on the qualifying device as there is a hardware check involved.

Step 1: Login or set up your www.AMDRewards.com profile.
Step 2: Enter the AMDToken Code. Token Code is required to verify installation of the qualifying product with the Product Verification Tool (PVT). The PVT will prompt you to download a file onto your computer. Accepting all terms of the PVT will allow it to run and verify the product.
Step 3::Select the Game(s) you wish to redeem by adding to your cart and confirm your selections.
Step 4: Activate your Game(s)by following the onscreen instructions. You may need to click on the Activation link. You may be prompted to enter your game platform account information to complete checkout. You may need to sign up for an account.

For any issues with the redemption process please submit a ticket at https://www.amdrewards.com/support

You get that email?

Quick qu whilst waiting on my 5800x3D delivery..

I'll be switching my 3700X out for it, in a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite motherboard.

Anything I need/should do other that just swapping out the cpu's?

Planning on doing a clean windows install at some point when I get the time, but until then should I be all good?

Have already updated the bios to the latest version in preparation.

should be fine.

edit: you'll be prompted to go back into bios on first boot. Do so and set the xmp profile back on (it'll probably turn off)

I sent a web note and OCUK were kind enough to send me a code.

As true_gamer mentioned earlier, He is able to use curve optimiser on Asus Motherboard X570-E, I've just read they are updating all their other motherboards for this.

Ive done exactly that swap today, and there must be something more to it, Ive done everything you mention and more but Ive lost loads in the heaven bench mark 4500 with the 3700x now 3500 with the 5800x3d on an Aorus elite 570 mobo

How did you reset BIOS? On mine I had to select "Load Optimised" or something similar.

What cooler are you running on the 5800X3D? Have you monitored temps during the tests? The 5800X3D will run considerably more hotter than the 3700x, so it might be thermally throttling.

Also take note of clock speeds to see what it's doing, there have been a few folk on Reddit who have had weird boost behaviours since swapping out.
Did you set XMP on the RAM again?

Ok just had a quick 30 mins on Spiderman Morales.

Played Spiderman Remastered on my 5600x and with the 5800x3d morales is defo smoother.

It's not apples to apples as they are technically different games and I am not measuring FPS but from a 'how does it feel' perspective it defo feels faster for sure.

Could be a combo of new CPU and more optimized game.

4 cores have a higher max MHz of 4549 whereas the rest are max 4449,

If I run the bench and watch the MHz only one or two cores are running at 4500ish, and only two or three have 75% or above utilisation rest are sitting at 3 to 20%

Max temp is 58c

Played cyberpunk with it and if anything it seems smother than before..

Reinstalled after burner and its back to 4500...

Maybe shows the only 3700x was more than a match for a 2070s

4080s are now 1100 might go that direction to atleast worry the 5800x3d

has anyone done the -30 guide and struggling to get the notifications to work via burnttoast?

followed it step by step but the notifications don't seem to be working

also I'm maxing out at 80c, with an NZXT Z63

I'm guessing the location of my rad and the case itself is to play here as It's not the best (GameMax Polaris)

From the looks of it the Github page leaves out an important step, installing the BurntToast PS module. Try running...
Install-Module -Name BurntToast -RequiredVersion 0.8.5
In a powershell session and then following what they say in the Github HowTo.

I would try it myself but my 5800X3D is sitting next to me on the desk until i hear back from @Gibbo or the web ticket i opened yesterday asking if the Uncharted game bundle is included or whether I'll need to return it and buy one from a place that still includes it.

If it was included, you should have got an automated email around the same time as your invoice in the evening with the code and instructions to redeem (least that's what happened for me when I ordered mine when the offer was on)

You'd think so and i probably shouldn't have bought it without first getting confirmation, although given the silence so far we probably wouldn't gotten that confirmation.

I don't see why it wouldn't be included as they're part of the promotion and at least 3 other 5000 series product pages show they're still participating and haven't run out of codes. It's the not knowing that's starting to become frustrating.
