Was FSR even released when Cyberpunk came out...

Cyberpunk - 10/12/20
FSR 1 - 21/06/21

Wait, what

Cyberpunk 2077 only got FSR support in November 2022.

I thought it was a year after FSR launched, actually it was 17 months afterwards.

But modders added FSR2 support six months before that which forced CDPR's hand:

That is how easy it was to add FSR into the game. It could have been done in 2021.

So the NVidia sponsorship part is null as FSR did not exist at the time so how could they block it?

You literally showed it was not 12 months(as I remembered) but 17 months after FSR was released which is even worse. Modders put in FSR six months before CDPR as people got fed up of waiting. So it was not that hard to add.

But if you think 17 months of delay is fine and no indication of anything being blocked, then I suppose we should wait 17 months after Starfield is released to see if DLSS gets added.

How could they add FSR2.2 in 2021 when it only came out at the end of 2022

Modders added FSR2 within one month of it being released or six months before CDPR bothered adding any form of FSR2. FSR1 support was absent in 2021. FSR2.2 was out earlier this year, and modders already added it in. 5 months later - nothing from CDPR. Most of the 290 games which have DLSS don't support FSR.

So at this point I am not sure what point you are trying to make?

Plenty of games with Nvidia involvement lack FSR,but you think that is normal though it locks out tons of gamers. Most of those games probably run on consoles too.

Plenty of games like Cyberpunk 2077 take ages to update FSR,when modders do it very quickly. But you think it is normal.

But when AMD sponsors a title which uses FSR,which works fine on 100% of cards from the last 6 years from DAY ONE,its suddenly an issue. But using your logic, that support is better late than never, then you can wait six,12 or 18 months and maybe we will get DLSS support. Take your own advice, but you won't because internet.

If Nvidia sponsored this title and locked out all AMD owners, and large amounts of the Steam userbase this would be a non-issue for you. This is why for all the DLSS exclusive titles I didn't here any complaints once. Funny how people suddenly get a conscious about "lock outs" when it affects them.

Anyway we are going around in circles. What is said has been said.

OOOOOO000000ooooooo shots fired :D

No but really where the #### is FSR3?????

Secretly launching with Starfield, along with more RDNA3 GPU's?

We can dream.

Software is AMD's biggest weakness, FSR3 isn't the only piece of software they are working on and keep delaying

Didn't A4 Games say they wouldn't be adding FSR to thier latest game at the time?

But it supports DLSS:

Modders did add in FSR2 so another DLSS exclusive title:

Probably AMD's fault!

Software is AMD's biggest weakness

AMD is AMD's biggest weakness.ATI knew how to be more aggressive in how it marketed stuff and fought fire with fire. AMD just allows itself to fall into traps.

AMD are a company which has learnt nothing from 20 years of Intel and later Nvidia doing this to them. I simply do not understand how their senior people, don't understand social media at all after 20 years of Nvidia using it successfully. Another Marketing Disaster indeed.

NV launched the 40 series as a software update instead of raw performance and jacked the price way way up...

When you are that cash rich you can't outbid AMD...

Then when you can't get your software into every single game, two of the years biggest games, you tip off wcft a week before Starfield AMD partnership and cross your fingers...

All we need now is for Bethesda to take the nip and kick their heals providing Nv late release build code access for launch day and each patch that comes later to fix performance when it eats through vram.

Exactly. All this could have been avoided if DLSS had a fallback layer for AMD and older Nvidia cards. But they can't do that as they want to use DLSS to sell their new cards.

Well put literally shuts down all the anti AMD fsr points. Tbh its not hard but in todays world sites gotta get the hits in and talk about any old crap. Imo AMD need to be better with FSR 2 along with the devs as if both of them put in the effort nobody would miss DLSS. DLSS is consistently better but good fsr 2 aint far off matching it. Any how FSR services a much wider base so DLSS aint really that important.

Can't have you keeping your old GPU though, you can dump your 12Gb 60 and get this newer 60 that's probably going to run SLOWER in Starfield but it's cheaper on the leccy.:p

FSR runs on everything, console is going to adopt it big time, Steam deck, Ally and the influx of handhelds that's coming.
