Poll: AMD Screws Gamers: Sponsorships Likely Block DLSS

Are AMD out of order if they are found to be blocking DLSS on Starfield

  • Yes

  • No

If AMD are bad for blocking DLSS, then Nvidia are bad for blocking gen 3 on previous gen cards

Ideally it would be a perfect world if we didn't have manufacturer specific tech and there was a universal standard that all manufacturers can benefit from, but obviously it wouldn't be fair to Nvidia or AMD because it would create equal competition
Epic has TSR which works on all cards.

I say that the fact that this is a story at all speaks volumes about the success of selling upscaling into peoples minds in place of performance.

Fighting over not the game, not the graphics but a setting which gives an imitation of a graphics setting that you can't actually run. But further than that, it's because the developers chose the generic version and not the niche one.

I'm waiting for a dev of any of the accused games to get dragged out of their hole to give a statement that their priorities are wildly different to the motivations behind this.

I would not care but Nvidia are using DLSS as a scam and find it quite ironic that these people are talking about AMD stealing your performance by blocking the scam.

I personally find it amusing. Many pcmr users trolled console users, that consoles needed upscaling because they are crap and they are gullible to marketing. It's all about native resolution rendering! Then mock Apple users for good measure for believing marketing slogans.

Nvidia(and even AMD TBF) uses Apple level marketing, and in a few years they are defending upscaling more than console users ever did. Then when people point out flaws in it, they get defensive. Yet have a stunning lack of self awareness to still mock consoles with smugness as they think they are some superior race. Also probably mock Apple users whilst believing marketing slogans.

Then the same people and so called press wonder why we get more useless releases. Technology companies are no fools - they realise the ideal consumers they got.

RTX 4060 series....

Even DF's John knows the score, talking about how gaming on his large 48" Oled shows up everything...

Whenever I mention DLSS is the best upscaler but I switch it off on my 65" QD-Oled as artifacts are more visible on a larger panel-I get told DLSS is better than native.

Those aren't artifices, it is just that native is not clever enough to render them :D
Hence DLSS is better than native!

I use a 48" OLED and I can categorically confirm that native is king. Truth be told there might be a distant fence wire in the background that looks a little better with DLSS on vs native, but that's hardly anything to wax your carrot over when you notice the many downsides of image reconstruction, which vary from game to game in severity.

That would be throwing Bethesda under the bus, If AMD say we aren't blocking it these people will turn their fury on Bethesda and demand answers as to why THEY are blocking Nvidia.

The goal here is to put pressure on AMD to either throw Bethesda under the bus or themselves so they can make another string of angry videos about either one of those scenario's.
No one would be angry with bethesda until after the game is released even then its just another developer not going the distance. Much worse amd taking the hit on this since blocking the feature is much worse than just not including it.

The popular channels will clickbait "claims" with a question or an uncertain statement.

The bottom feeders state the same thing as fact.

The information didn't change. Just the desperation for viewers.

Can see what iv been watching today, flooding my recommended feed now lol:

He asks, why isn't AMD letting nvidia tech in a project AMD put money in somewhere.

He answered his own video in the first 20 secs

Ok, so you don't care about consumers, tell me which GPU line only supports frame gen, I own a 3070ti and isn't supported, should I complain that Nvidia is anti consumer even to it's own customers
So developing new features that require new hardware is anticonsumer?

What about your monitor? It’s not HDR rated, yet it should display HDR? Or your car, maybe it should get AC when you didnt buy a car with AC?

You can complain all you want, just make sure what you’re complaining about actually makes sense.

Edit; also you said it yourself. You’re not happy with DLSS or FSR. You think they’re not good enough. Well, without the hardware solution that is DLSS3 you’ll get something like FSR3 ( which just like FSR upscaling, will be worse than DLSS). And considering you seem to be very hard to please, even if nvidia gave you a version of DLSS3 that wouldnt need hardware to run, you’d be unhappy with it, bash it and not use it anyway. So what is the point?
