Poll: AMD Screws Gamers: Sponsorships Likely Block DLSS

Are AMD out of order if they are found to be blocking DLSS on Starfield

creation engine was CPU bound, don't know if this new iteration is.

It concerns me as I run the Fallout 4 benchmark thread, and its very CPU bound,Cache bound and memory bandwidth bound. With the Papyrus scripts basically running on one thread it can really hammer the CPU.

I really hope, they have managed to multi-threaded the engine better - because if they are making much larger settlements, and you can build your own it will be destroy CPUs.

Have a PC and a console if you want to play all the good games. I not long finished the new Zelda game and the switch ain't a power house but the game was great.

I'm not going to buy a new card for the sake of buying a new card, i have to want it for the right reasons or i'm simple not interested.

If my current GPU gives up its ghost before that happens AMD will get my money anyway, i'll get a console, what do you think about that Nvidia?

am still rocking a Vega 64 so i have a similar thought process.

Shady tactics from amd, they could have atleast lied and give the same response that nvidia did but pr disaster is what amd wants.
Sitting back with popcorn waiting to see if starfield has dlss.
I wont be paying for any game that doesn't have dlss support thats for sure.
And that's still most games out there, knew your type existed.

Feel free to tell us what amazing games you are playing

I think that asking why AMD is doing this is the wrong question - what we should be asking is why Microsoft/Bethesda would agree to a contract that stipulates that the PC port of their flagship 2023 title must ship only with inferior upscaling technology.

I mean, we know the answer - it's money right?

But do they (MS/Bethesda) really have so little regard for their art and their customers that they're willing to compromise the visual quality of their game for a few extra bucks? I guess so.
Using dlss and upscalars is compromising image quality, the heck you are on about, native is better

No, DLSS is in the unique position that when implemented right, the visuals can and do become better. All the big channels have covered this in video reviews already so just look them up. Essentially anything 1440P+ DLSS can show more detail, better AA, better performance than the native image render.

On top of that with Nvidia we have access to DLAA/DLDSR which are superior than anything else.
Every time I've gone in to try this, native was always better as a whole scene in every instance.

The whole scene, all of it

Didn't this all start at Wccftech? It makes me wonder whether Nvidia PR "noticed" this "oddity" and now we have this all timed perfectly,so they hope nobody realises Nvidia lost a big sponsorship to a competitor. But the worst thing is that, that all the people who couldn't give two damns about tech, now know Starfield is AMD sponsored because the internet is complaining. They also now know that they can get the game bundled free with AMD products. I hope it does not end up having a Streisand effect.

Like i keep saying, Nvidia's useful idiots.

This is a really good point PCMR is such a narrow view and yet thinks of its self as the be all and end all, its how you end up with conspiracies like this.
Yes, but... but... but...

Us PCMR buyers paid more. Much much more. So surely we are entitled to everything being better?

Not so much pay to play, or pay to win, but pay to be better. A master, or even a PC Master Race member!

Whatever the case may be in whatever manner, I just want games to come out optimised, they don't need to have any upscaler if they are optimised, as evidenced by games that are 100fps+ without enabling any upscaler.
