AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

I dunno I can't see any difference in games from running 32 bit XP /w 2GB and 64 bit Vista /w 4GB. I'm just talking about right now, I know in the future more and more games will start to hit the 32-bit application adress space limit.

In 25th of this month (some say it will announce in July 8th) the first graphic card with GDDR5 memory module will be announced. The ATI Radeon HD 4870 utilized with 800 shader processors and 512MB GDDR5 memory and 256bit memory interface. When it comes out, the price will be as low as 299USD. Actually it is selling in HK with the price tag 320USD. now let’s see its Autopsy pics.

And, it beats GTX 260, in price and performance. Our review will be out in days, keep tuned.

The PowerColor HD 4870’s GPU runs at 725MHz, while Asus HD 4870 750MHz.Memory runs at 3600MHz(900MHz for GDDR5) with a 256-bit interface.

The akihabara leaked the price of HD 4870 for around $306.

Oh ... I thought the 4870 had more than just faster clocks /ram ... more shader pipelines or something ... apparently not, so I guess the question is how are owners of 4850's finding them to clock ?

we don't know because CCC only lets you go to 700mhz, which the card does no problem. Until we get some better overclockign software we won't be able to push the card. Hopefully soon :/

If the fan is stuck on 14% do you think this was done deliberately by ati? Reason i ask cause if these 4850's were clocking high right out of the box this could possibly put people of opting for a 4870 especially those playing in the lower resolutions as the gddr5 would not really be needed.

Thanks for that :)
Sounds promising then .... but noisy lol.
looking at specs though, even a high clocked 4850 might struggle to get near t 4870 at hi-res/AA/AF filtering as theres a substantial memory bandwith difference... the plot thickens

Are you getting a GPU only or FC block Guru ?
