AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

I do hope they get a move on, the ''final'' drivers of the 260 and 280 will release and hopefully boost there performance (which is why I am not totally writing Nvidia off yet), that GTX 260 can be found at reasonable prices and I am getting an itch sitting here 8-).

GPU-Z says 800SP 625MHz, and the people that already have them ATi Overdrive says 625MHz as the stock clock for the 4850.

Owen go to the bay and search they are on there and as they are selling the cards i think we can trust their specs. It has cleared up the last little mystery about the 4850's that some of us had it is deffo 800 shaders.

just read someone's post on another site. they got 2 4850 and are testing them CF and single. has that been posted here? am i allowed to link?

I think you will find they aren't going to be around until the 25th June, at the same time as the 4870 release. At least that's the way I am reading it and I am pretty sure most of the hardware sites would have had something up spot on 2pm but absolutely zero :(

Ok so now I can understand where they are getting the 1 teraflop from, shader is clocked higher, but I was still under the impression it needed at 1GHz hmmmmmmm Voodoo magic at work, sorry nVidia has the copyright on that :p

So now we got the specs of the initial release 4850's we are getting benchmarks so not really any need for speculation anymore and maybe now before using baseless arguments to defend nvidia the fanbois can now go off and do some reading and if they have nothing constructive to say will leave those of us looking forward to this to have the fun :D.

4850 = 800 shaders x 2 FLOP's/cycle x 625MHz (625,000,000Hz) = 1 Teraflop

nice benchmarks so far for these cards, cant wait for their price to settle down after the launch period so i can replace my 2900XT with a 4870. it should at least cut the power requirements of my pc down.
