Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Any ideas how much that would be after import tax etc?
Dg the bay is your friend and you can see how much we can get them for
.
GPU-Z says 800SP 625MHz, and the people that already have them ATi Overdrive says 625MHz as the stock clock for the 4850.
The Radeon 4850 features a 625 MHz core clock and GDDR3 clock in excess of 2000MHz. Corporate documentation explains that the 480 stream processors on the RV770 processor offer considerable enhancements over the 320 stream processors found in the RV670 core, though AMD memos reveal little about how this is accomplished.
this is from guy whos already got the 4850
the midrange segment that this card is in includes the 9800 and 8800gts. It can hold it\'s own against the competitions cards. from what has been said by owners of the other cards it is as fast or faster depending on which games you are playing or plan to play. And it includes DX10.1 which the Nvidia cards do not support at this time
me thinks now that 130.00 has just flew out the window and 160.00 has just flown in.
My last post on this as i don't want to upset people too much
GPU-Z just displays whatever the author put in a text document. There is screens of it displaying both 480/800.
Quote from dailytech from yesterday:
Yesterday tomshardware also reported that it had 480SP. Both of those sites are usually creditable.
Finally i will ask again, how can a 2.5 times increase in the number of shaders result in a ~20-30% increase in performance. Assuming the 4870 will run at similar speeds to the 3870, 750/775, then it would be inline for a 50-60% increase- i.e 320SP>>480SP.
Enjoy the next week!

I do hope they get a move on, the ''final'' drivers of the 260 and 280 will release and hopefully boost there performance (which is why I am not totally writing Nvidia off yet), that GTX 260 can be found at reasonable prices and I am getting an itch sitting here .
