Surely the next set of drivers from ATi will sort that out though?
From what I read the guy was using the 8.5 catalyst drivers. People under NDA have 8.6, not sure what the differences are though...

My last post on this as i don't want to upset people too much
GPU-Z just displays whatever the author put in a text document. There is screens of it displaying both 480/800.
Quote from dailytech from yesterday:
Yesterday tomshardware also reported that it had 480SP. Both of those sites are usually creditable.
Finally i will ask again, how can a 2.5 times increase in the number of shaders result in a ~20-30% increase in performance. Assuming the 4870 will run at similar speeds to the 3870, 750/775, then it would be inline for a 50-60% increase- i.e 320SP>>480SP.
Enjoy the next week!
well thing is against a stock gt its about a dead heat.but you can get gt highly overclocked version for just over 100 quid now.
so guess its just how much they want for these 4850s as if its only 1 fps or 2 prefer the extra 30 in my pocket.
That bench Greebo links to was done on an E8400 @ 4Ghz not a Phenom - but even so it's not a quad although the 45nm C2Ds now are very fast for games so makes sense!
Really looking forward to these new cards - looks like some real competition for NV
well from the link to review i posted(few posts up) in cryshizzle the gt lost by 4 fps roughly.both cards at stock.so its roughly the sameish in my eyes.these cards are in budget value section really so 30-50 quid difference for three to 5 frames, i d take the cash.as already said as well the gt is a high overclocked version so it would probably be the same as the stock 4850 but save me 30-50 quid.
well just found this and now not looking as good as most are saying.basically same as a 8800gt.you can get gt for 100 now so maybe these arnt going to be great at 130.
