Sorry if its a repost,
CF 4850 seems to have 'issues' with P45.

X8/X8 letting it down?
That's odd as PCI-E 2 at x8 is supposed to be the same as PCI-E x16, perhaps it's... Dun dun dun... a driver issue that's making it run on PCI-E 1 x8?
It could be intentional. I looked into the P45s and couldnt help but think, why would they offer it at those prices, as it would obviously undercut the X38/48 and offer similar performance. I know that as PCI 2.0 cards progress, the bandwith of the P45 will then start to be a problem but for not it isnt. It could be the case that they saw this, and in lack of a better term, gimped the P45s to make there X38/48 more attractive. Especially now.

In other words, the X38/48 are more future-proof, but the P45s aren't?

So then chaps, anything interesting happened since I went out?
The 24xCFAA (and 12xCFAA mode for 4xAA) mode doesn't cause any extra blurriness at all. Great pains are taken to make sure that only the edges are filtered.
Performance of the CFAA modes on 48xx parts should be surprising
Some of the fsaa modes really are pointless, can anyone actually spot any significant difference after around 8x anyway? (awaits the deluge of omfg its like night and day posts).
24x just seems overkill, what games would that be usable in anyway, quake 3?
Personally I can't see a difference on 4x and above.
