That's pretty good, a worthy replacement for the RX 570.

5800X3D - AM4 mobo compatible and average 15% faster than the 5900X.

Will be a healthy upgrade from my 3700X which should tide me over for a few years. If I can get one.

I got dollars in an account. Waves dollars in face :p

But seriously $199 for that performance is just the ticket. Seems AMD used it’s extra TSMC capacity well.
Would be great if it actually sells for that but as we know MSRP and realRP are not in sync right now.

The 5800X was frequently better than the 5900X in gaming, though.

As always, we get very little from the show and tell and reviews will show us what we need to know.
Not sure that is true except in maybe a few corner cases. It's typically 5950X > 5900X > 5800X > 5600X. Highest clocking parts + most L3 cache win overall.

A very strange unveil. Leaks on twitter said these were being mass produced since mid November and availability is going to be "Spring 2022"... so basically mid April. How is it taking near enough 5 months to mass produce an 8 core CPU?

Most likely going to be £400 but when you can get a 5900x right now for under £450 what's the point.

Crossed wires I think. It’s probably ref to the RX 6500 card.

Intel want to make up CPU losses to AMD by driving the GPU market and AMD have been beavering away with RDNA2 to leverage the growth Intel will provide.

Entry Intel Arc cards are priced at sub $199 along with the GTX 2060 “2022” edition and maybe the RTX 3050. Wha, wha wah…

Server parts? 3 months lead time for the full die, but in theory (after the previous surprises that all Zen dies were "3D stacking ready"), they should be able to forgo that step. So 1 month to 3D stack and bin the parts? So that's 3-4 months of selling everything the can as server parts then!

Luckily, what bins well for EPYC is not necessarily what bins well for 5800X-3D. Might be mostly a paper launch all the same. We all know TSCM dies are scares and these make them more as server parts, but it really looks like in their current strategy to chase margins to the heavens, they have and continue to neglect lower end parts. 5600G is as low as they have taken Zen3 and that wouldn't matter if Zen2 parts like the 3600 and lower were plentiful but they are not.

Meanwhile aside from a certain almost fluke-like deal from a three letter competitor, the prices of 5800X have been steady. Not a good sign.
