People keep posting bull*****s again and again, jesus, AMD wont' compete? seriosly? Ofcourse they compete, they dominate in every major IT retailer, they will release 3d cache versions, Zen 4 is on plan. They don't have luxury to be sloppy like Intel was before, AMD will continue to work hard and grow.
"Market share" is an effect that happens after a company offers their products to the public and the public decides to buy or not buy. It's a lagging indicator.
*Right now* AMD is offering less performance and charging more money for it.
I can easily predict which direction my personal "share" of the "market" will go if AMD perisits in their current approach.
odd cpus seem to be in stock way more than gpus.
Why is Zen 3 outselling Alder Lake? And by some margin.
Your assertion was not as a consumer, you said AMD's market share will go unless they offer cheap CPU's, market share isn't everything, if Intel sell a million $150 CPU's with a 10% margin they have made $15 Million, but AMD sell 300,000 $400 CPU's with a 60% margin they have made $72 Million. Why should this matter to me as a consumer? I'm not going to spend more money for less performance.
I think Intel made a mistake tying Alderlake to Windows 11. People who don't dig into the reviews may easily assume that Alderlake requires Windows 11 to beat AMD and people don't want to bother with a new buggy OS.
After looking at the reviews, it's clear that AL beats Zen3 regardless of OS, and it does so for less money.
Telling me that " all the cool kids are doing it!" won't convince me to spend more money for less performance. (Which is what this "market share" argument ammounts to)

The holiday sale prices alone (on AMD CPU's) could account for AL's slow sales.
I contributed to AMD's recent sales numbers but I should point out the reasons why.
The same reason more people will spend £1400 on a 3080 rather than £1350 on a 6900XT.Why is Zen 3 outselling Alder Lake? And by some margin.

Of course not that's why the retailers have plenty of 3080s while the 6900XT is all sold out.Because they don’t?

Let's not pretend AMD doesn't have its fingers in the pie either.Jenson sold them direct to miners.
