Just float this idea out there. How would Vega hopefuls react to Vega being what nvidia has done with the Titan, being its only sold with that cooler but To version were 3rd parties can sell it with their name on, but it's still based all around the stock cooler ?

Hopefully explained it OK... That white Vega, but with 3rd party brands, no fancy triple coolers...
Would purely depend on price.

Do you mean how the Fury x was done with just re branding of 3rd parties ?

If that is what you mean i have no issue with it. I loved the look of the fury x although it did hint towards them being dogs for overclocking... After using the fury x at 4k i can see why they choice to place them under water.. they get hot hot

The earliest I think you'll see it is when Bethesda launch Prey, which is due mid-May then add 2 weeks for delays, and 4 weeks for stock and partner boards so end of June imho.

All through last year I was really hoping it would be out early 2017, But here we are going through the months like AMD promised and June seems so far away :(

Just hope loads does not get 2 1080ti or next upgrade he be on Intel igp :p.
Or Ryzen APU.

What are people's thoughts on RX 580 pricing? I can only find one "source" mentioning pricing at all, saying the 8 GB version should be $200, which basically means it's the same as the RX 480. Just thinking whether it's worth getting a second hand RX 480 to tide me over until Vega or if it'll just instantly drop in resell value once the RX 580 comes out.
I am hoping for a sub £200 price for an RX580, I'm not sure we'll get that though.
It's getting harder to hold on with my backup GPU, my 6970 just died so I'm using an old AMD 5700!
Hurry up AMD....

If they want it to make any sense at all and the specs are what have been rumoured then it'll be the same price or maybe even a little lower. Putting it up would make no sense at all.
The only way it is closer to £300 is if it is close to 1070 performance. If not then makes no sense. No idea what Turboman Tony was thinking with that comment :p

It's going to come in around £275 I bet. Just watch, as it's performance is going to be better than expected...all hail AMD resurgence lmao.

And yeah I'm getting giddy, all this looking at £700 1080ti prices.

If the performance is better than expected then it might well be higher, I am basing this on the rumour that it's nothing but a 480 clocked a little.
+1

If it is like 5-10% better and runs cooler or something, it will be exact same price in dollars as 480 was on release. If it is much better like Tony thinks it will be, then sure it will likely be priced more :p

Would be nice to see this slightly more efficient 480 slot into the 570 slot and the 580 to be something better, but I doubt it.

If the 580 comes in at £300 then Vega is going to be silly expensive...

Either that's a good thing or a bad thing. Good if it means 1080ti speeds (hopefully slightly cheaper) bad if it means just expensive to match Nvidia pricing.

Personally I can't understand why AMD would cannibalise sales of Vega by releasing the cheaper more affordable GPUs first. That's not how Nvidia do it or how they came to market with Ryzen. So it's an odd strategy.

exactly i do believe that if the RX580 is simple rebrand, they would be wise to burry it under Vega's launch to shift focus, the only reason for them to release RX580 first is if they made significant changes to efficiency/performance they want ppl to know about.
and there is no way for it to be priced 300$, that would need about ~30% performance boost for that pricing to make sense.
