exactly i do believe that if the RX580 is simple rebrand, they would be wise to burry it under Vega's launch to shift focus, the only reason for them to release RX580 first is if they made significant changes to efficiency/performance they want ppl to know about.
and there is no way for it to be priced 300$, that would need about ~30% performance boost for that pricing to make sense.
I also doubt the price will be any higher than the RX 480 was, if anything it'll be lower. It might sort the men from the boys in terms of reviewers - anyone comparing RX 580 numbers with launch RX 480 numbers will find unusually high increases due to the fact that the RX 480's performance has increased in the past year. Hopefully they'll be sensible and re-run the RX 480 benchmarks with the same drivers that are used for the RX 580.

It's going to come in around £275 I bet. Just watch, as it's performance is going to be better than expected...all hail AMD resurgence lmao.

And yeah I'm getting giddy, all this looking at £700 1080ti prices.

I wonder if it will be like the 390X where AMD withheld performance drivers for 6 months until the rebranded 290x came out and there was a special '390x' driver that gave some fantastic speed boost due to the "extensive architectural changes'. LOL [sic] and behold some people hack the 290X firmware and get the 390x drivers to work and see the exact same performance at the same clocks. AMD quickly back-peddle and release the driver for the 290x series and try and claim how great they are at giving users all this performance. Yeah, why didn't you release that performance 6 months ago. Sadly some people lap up AMD's marketing machine.

580xis a joke of a product given clocks. Still optimistic Vega will perform nicely, just too late to be effective. AMD have some nice tech in the pipeline though for beyond Vega10

Only person I know here that would fit that would be flopper tbh and even he was mad and not seen him post since AMD's last presentation of Vega where they handed out t-shirts. lol! :D

Yet when I think of that statement applied to Nvidia, I can think of many :p

Apart from its not worth waiting for, no. :p

It is if you want to support AMD. :P

I'm currently using an Hybrid 980Ti and it'll be the last NVIDIA gpu I use for quite some time I think. Now that Gameworks and PhysX are being made Opensource I have even less reason to pay the silly prices for NVIDIA cards.

Pmsl without even watching.:D

Coz youv've been running AMD too long.:p

It's funnier now it's only a memory.:D

First thing I did was flash my 290 to an X and ripped the cooler off.

:D

Thats what AMD done with their 4/8GB 480s, just stickered the boxes, be doing the same when they re-release them, be whacking 580 stickers over the top :p

Been running a custom loop for a very long time now Tommy, hence why every air cooled card sounds like a jet engine. ;)

That's the problem, youv'e been in the loop too long now, there are ones that are quieter than the hum of a pump, especially if you only buy one.:p

I'd rather double up than get skinnier.:p

I doubt the RX 580 will get close enough to a 1070 to justify such a price tag. The only thing this means is, get your amazing value RX 480s right now while you still can. Before the rebrand costs you like £100 more. And those £700 1080ti prices are ...odd. The MSI Gaming X 1080ti alone put a frown on my face. So sad MSI have gone down this path since 1000 series...

Agree totally, 580 won't get anywhere near a 1070, hence why the price is no where near 1070 price. What is it now, about 380 for the average 1070? 580 coming in around 275, a hundred cheaper than a 1070 seems about right no?

did that really happen ? oh dear ... that would be so unbelievably pathetic behaviour. I really hope you're wrong, I mean I don't like AMD at all but I wouldn't expect such crappy behaviour from them ...
