I'd imagine the first screens will be out of reach but with consoles also supporting such panels the prices will drop fast.

Hopefully we're reaching the point of critical mass where nVidia will *have* to start supporting adaptive-sync or will just end up look silly...
*Pleaaaaaaaaaaase God make it soon!!!*
the "stated" release date for scorpio is end of 2017, early 2018. Most console users, use them on TV's.I'd imagine the first screens will be out of reach but with consoles also supporting such panels the prices will drop fast.

If Nvidia think they are loosing enough sales to AMD because of it then they will start adding the necessary hardware support in future GPUs.Agreed. I may have ordered a 1080Ti to replace my 980Ti if they had added the support.
Im sorry, but i couldn't give a **** about what AMD are doing in the consoles, as im on a PC here, which is owned by Nvidia.
Nvidia owns your PC?

Yup, they own the PC gaming market, so why would i care about the console one, and what AMD are doing in it.
Is that the same PC gaming market that are buying games designed for consoles powered by AMD hardware?
Yeah, most likely that is the case. But still, ya never know
There are not many G-Sync monitor's out there. Like right now if you wanted 4K IPS G-Sync, there are not exactly many options. So they may finally have decided to do it. So it will be Freesync 2 vs G-Sync HDR or something.
Like everything AMD, it is taking ages; really want to see some Freesync 2 news now. 4k Freesync 2 and Vega will likely be bliss and keep me happy until OLED hits the market at a decent price point.
I think HDR sounds like an overplayed card. It's not THAT game changing. Especially for people with ips which already have good color reproduction.
Also the first wave of HDR monitors/tv's will probably have obscene prices.
Coming back to VEGA, it seems that the new polaris/ the refresh is around the corner. I'm going to presume that Vega will come out at during Computex (30 May - 3 june).

Yeah. I am waiting until at least 2018 OLED TV's to arrive before I upgrade my TV. By then there will be proper HDR panels and content. Right now there is hardly any content and from what I have seen on a mate's top end Samsung TV which is UHD Premium, there is not much of a leap over my 1080p plasma and HDR did not exactly blow me away.HDR on actual UHD Premium TV with properly mastered HDR content is game-changing. I dont want to say that things look 3d, but the step up in realism is such that it almost feels like you're truly looking into a window to another world rather than a flat display, at least in terms of image quality. Proper sense of depth is obviously not there(like with VR).
There's a lot of lackluster HDR displays and content out there that dont give the best impressions, though.
