AMD VEGA confirmed for 2017 H1

Yea, wondering the same. We do not have enough data to come to this conclusion, if anything in my opinion the oposite is more true.

The only reason to think big Vega will be 1080 performance or less is you just look back at Polaris. Before that AMD have always managed to be close or beat Nvidia. Vega is very late so it should easily bring 1080 performance, but I expect 1080Ti performance at least on AMD games from big Vega.

Vega is a big tech arc upgrade for amd.
drawing conclusions based on amd sandbagging the industry again is foolish.

Whats peoples thoughts on AMD releasing, or "announcing" VEGA at Computex 2017? I think they will surely have been aiming for this? It makes sense. And only if they just weren't ready would they not (IMO). When they announced Q2 release (End of June to you and me) they will have given themselves a buffer and really you would think they would be shooting for Computex.
Thoughts?

Computex makes sense to me; Dr.Su told investors during the earnings call that Vega products will be shipping end of Q2.

Computex along with previewing and showing off FreeSync 2 monitors to compliment Vega makes a lot of sense.
Let's just hope supply isn't an issue; as GloFo can only produce so much given their size compared to TSMC and Samsung.

+1
Especially on not quoting WCCFTech, I'm sure folks remember the clickbait lies they posted before the Polaris launch. Like the early NDA date that never happened.

Same, though I am wary of a possibility that Vega might not be able to do that. In which case I'll be waiting until a card that does. Saying that, the Fury is a good card, especially for £240. If Vega doesn't deliver, it would tide you over much better than most options. Do you have a FreeSync monitor? It pairs well with a Fury. If you don't, it might be a worthy purchase on the off chance that Vega disappoints.

Or if you can't get one... (fingers crossed they won't be as hard to find as Fury was at its launch, 20k units doesn't seem too bad for a high-end GPU)
Im just using my 49ks7000 tv for my gaming it was the lowest lag tv i could find with 4k and HDR. I Would love a freesync monitor but the only way i could make space would be to either kick out 1 of the kids and use there bedroom or kick out the wife and use the space where her dressing table is or i could kickout my plecos and use the space where the fishtank is im not to keen on the last option.

Unfortunately cannot use my 55KS7000 with the FuryX :( can only enjoy it with the PS4pro but the gfx nor games are in par. Eg TWWarhammer and Stellaris going to be amazing at 55" 4k screen, especially since the TV is in the bedroom :)

Oh he's going to get more than 1 :) going for two again loads or 4 like kaap?

PS keep up the wccftech. links some news is better then no news :)

Im not not getting a one. :)

If he does get more than 1 Vega he's going on my ignore list. I have a women that moans to much but loadsa is a close second :D:D:D.

:D:D:D

I just linked a guru3D article on the page before this showing Vega at 1080Ti performance in Time Spy benchmark

All well and good being at Ti performance in Time Spy, but have you played it ? :p

Not really, I remember them very much focusing on and promoting cost and power draw. Quite different to Vega.
They promoted those things and many others. It's not an 'either/or' situation. Plus the power draw improvements were an extension of the big architectural improvements they were claiming.
