Wow. Just read the news, Volta is beating Vega to the market :eek:

It will be the 2070 and 2080 cards. Volta is bringing a huge jump in performance like Maxwell did and the 2080 apparently will be 40% faster than the 1080Ti.

Poor Vega, what will AMD do now?

That ~40% is just based upon the increase in theoretical Tflops, due to a ~40% increase in core count. Game scaling won't go that high unless the new hardware scheduling helps with performance scaling across the cores.

Volta that has 5,120 cores also is 815mm so I can't ever see that hitting the desktop. It actually looks to me like unless Volta hits significantly higher clocks it won't be that large a jump over Pascal.
