AMD Vs. Nvidia Image Quality - Old man yells at cloud

I have a Samsung NU7400 TV, I'm sure that should do 444 YCBCR?

I can never set it to that and full range in Nv properties.

Interesting video, performance wise it's nice to see that both sides do quite well in different titles, quality wise, well other than the horrendous youtube compression issues and that even with these pre-set run throughs, their are always differences to the scene. Other than that some don't really look any different but then others do look much better on one side or the other.

The quality of the video is perfect, no compression defects are there, 1440p60.
I see only the left hand side being always the better image quality wise - in one game the right hand side was even missing the sun spots in the room.

For some reason it doesn't surprise me that you always found the image on the left to be better, I have no idea why though.;)

Its not really a fair comparison. Most of these games tested have dynamic lighting, it really is hard to test 1 to 1.

I will post this again. Some games give AMD a better IQ out the box and some give NVidia a better IQ out the box.

Having been someone who runs both, I can't genuinely say I have ever noticed the IQ difference between the 2 and both are good. I am genuinely not surprised that 4k8k does see a better image with AMD though, as he is very very biased to AMD.

Oh wow, just seen the amount of tearing going on with TR.....

Mind you, I did stop it to make NVidia look better and AMD worse and this post is intended as a **** take of what anyone could do to make a different vendor look better, just like what @4K8KW10 did

Sorry mods, I am trolling here.

Interesting, is it not?

Even this screenshot isn't 1 to 1. Sure its the same part of the game but both show different stages in motion. The issue with AMD being better than Nvidia for image quality is Nvidia own doing. For years AMD defaulted to the correct PC RGB ranges while Nvidia refused to support them on HDMI. It was only over the last 4 years I think now Nvidia added driver support.

So up until Nvidia released that driver AMD did have the better image quality because they showed the correct PC RGB levels. This has now stuck with Nvidia quite similar like AMD was known for being bad drivers. The past remained with them.

Nvidia still do default to the wrong RGB level but that can now be changed, so if the game is a 1 to 1 comparison I think you find it quite hard to see a difference.
