AMD Vs. Nvidia Image Quality - Old man yells at cloud

I get you. The point here is that some people may be sensitive to their monitors' outputs, for example I can not stand GeForce images, maybe only photos viewing is somewhat normal but reading news articles with their specific fonts, or playing games with that whitish fog and missing details, thanks but no ;)

Nonsense. Every post you make is filled with it.

Listen, and understand. That 4K8K is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are brain dead.

Sorry couldn't help myself. :D:p:D

Laptops in the plural he has been using two.

Notebook 1: Ryzen 5 2500U with Vega 8, 16 GB DDR4, 1 TB HDD SATA3, Radeon RX 560X 4GB GDDR5 + LG 24UD58-B
Notebook 2: Core 2 Duo T6600, 4 GB DDR2, 750 GB HDD SATA3, GeForce 8400M GS

So two separate machines with separate panels and then there is this lovely gem of a post.

You don't have to calibrate the monitors - run them as they are at default and compare the default images.
You can't calibrate the colours on a Radeon and on a GeForce to be exactly the same, there is no point in doing so, and likely you will fail because it is technically not possible with the current drivers.

Because the users will never calibrate their monitors, even I don't do it, in the best case will only choose between the preset Gamma 1, 2 or 3 maker options.

So basically a completely worthless testing procedure just to fit his agenda.

At least @Vince is trying to level the playing field a bit and trying to be a bit more professional about the issue.

In the centre of the first image and everywhere on the second.
Well there must be other settings at play such as the config as I have fired it up using my ancient CS Source settings and matched the graphics settings you have chosen and the sky in mine is a different tone to both your pics and there's more gfx settings too!
No whitish fog though:

I don't get bonus nvidia trees neither :p

I asked because, if that is his laptop then the reason he is getting Fog in CS:source games is because his 8400M GPU can't handle the game in Dx9. If he dropped down to Dx 8.1 he wouldn't have any fog. I know because my brother has the exact same GPU in his laptop.

And yes, it's kind of ridiculous the comparisons he is making. Comparing games on laptop with a 8400M GS with a much newer laptop with an Rx 560. Of course there are going to be differences and of course the 560 is going to look better.

He is using an 8400M GS that can't handle the game with the settings he is using. The whitish fog is to reduce the draw distance to allow it to run on his laptop.

My 2 cents are its easy to see that AMD looks better. A 2080ti using a £700 monitor v 290x on a £380 monitor looked worse compared to the AMD setup image wise looking through my eyes.. The crux is though i would rather have the 2080ti as 4k is all about image and fps which the 2080ti will do once the image quality settings for playing the game are set to optimal. Vega 64 v 1080 then Vega 64 every day of the week. Sorry 4k but coming in to this forum comparing a laptop to these guys is criminal in a way. AMD over Nvidia in image quality from my experience AMD are superior but cs go is not how to prove it. RDR 2 or something recent is how you can prove a point if it's there.

How many times have I told you.

You don't know anything. You have no knowledge about the topic at hand. You go searching on google to find things that that make it look like Nvidia have bad image quality, but you don't understand the things you find, you just post them up because it makes you sound smart. Bringing up ASTC texture compression is an example. That's only used on mobile processors, yet you stated that Nvidia is using ASTC and that's why their image quality suffers. LOL That's like me saying my car is going slow because the flux capacitor isn't working.

That's just one example in a long list of examples where you have shown that you are willing to make up things to try prove your point.
I wonder what goes through his head when reading all our posts. Bet it similar to those people who are told the earth is round and not flat :p

Nonsense. Every post you make is filled with it.
Indeed. He has posted so much of it that the mods really should warn him now as he is now going around recommending people to buy a 3950X in the CPU section of the forum for browsing purposes...

But maybe it was the way that monitor was setup. My £500 monitor will look much better than Gregeter’s £1000 monitor for example. Not only is it higher resolution, but it has been calibrated ;)

I would not want 4K8K in my corner either, he keeps scoring own goals left right and center. He is just making you and your argument look bad.

End of the day I am happy for more people to only buy AMD cards. They need all the market share they can get. But I will be jumping back to the dark side once again as soon as the RTX 3070 is released :D

I’m not picky buy any means I just love to game but as long as I can see what i shoot and race that’s all that matters to me at the end of the day.

It's hilarious just how clueless people are on this forum :D

I suggest anyone who actually cares about IQ etc. in general to use forums like avsforums instead.

It's the gamer demographic that does it. It is not necessarily a bad thing but you wouldn't get this level of comedy from avforums.
