AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

I don't want to see AMD's plans. I want to see real products and results of their work.
Good job upcoming is the CONSUMER electronics show. Key is in the name. It's all about products and it's directed at the likes of you and I among others.
If you want to see AMD's plans then a shareholders meeting and report is where to get that.

You mean the troll was right (hu)?

lolwhut? No, I said there's no point in watching the keynote if you want real products, real benches and real numbers. That is not the place for a keynote, never was. hardware Unboxed claimed - and then rapidly backtracked - that Ryzen 3000 and Navi won't even get a mention at CES.

There is a big difference between not giving performance figures and not even uttering its name.

But there isn't time in a 1-hour keynote to give in-depth data and benches, that's not what a keynote is for. The 3 booths and 2 event spaces AMD have however...

Look at Intel's keynote for an example. They said "hey, we got some new 9000 SKUs coming!" and then did a press release after the keynote with all the details. That's likely how AMD's will go, especially as there's quite a lot to cover potentially if we're getting a full 2019 rundown.

Of course there isnt. They don't want to bore people! It's a marketing presentation after all. I expect to hear the Core count, maybe frequency and then maybe a quick blender demo.

They denied that the Ryzen 3000 series launch would happen during the Keynote. Which I think we all expect to actually happen.

No, they said it's not happening at CES full stop. Then heavily backtracked. Christ, I posted the exact comment thread from YouTube and humbug posted their retraction.

Bickering over diddly squat. Come on guys. 1 more day.

If somebody is going to get all princess stampy feet over their own misinterpretation and impatience, I'm going to call them out on it.

But yes I concur, I'm not continuing with it. This is a hype train, not a squabble over semantics and comprehension.

I am sure everyone is excited as hell for this release. It will be prime time work for me so will only be able to get info at times during the day.

Let me put it another way before I leave it:

AMD have 3 booths at CES
AMD have 2 event spaces at Palazzo Tower
AMD have a 1 hour keynote Wednesday morning
AMD have announced Ryzen at CES without a keynote.

Why do you think the keynote will have so much detail on Ryzen 3000?

lol this is such a car crash of a thread - i am so excited about tomorrow. wonder which side will have the aneurysm first, pro amd or anti amd :p:D

So you're using a press release with a ton of information in it about the new mobile SKUs to say the keynote will be chock-full of information? OK...

I'm done, logic is out the window here. Roll on tomorrow.

+1 to this, didn't BK do last years Keynote for Intel? did they release their roadmap, pricing and whatnot? im pretty sure they didnt... dunno why everyone is expecting AMD to do this during their Keynote...

From Wiki on the definition of Keynote speaker "A keynote in public speaking is a talk that establishes a main underlying theme. In corporate or commercial settings, greater importance is attached to the delivery of a keynote speech or keynote address. The keynote establishes the framework for the following programme of events or convention agenda; frequently the role of keynote speaker[1] will include that of convention moderator. It will also flag up a larger idea – a literary story, an individual musical piece, or event"

So im not sure why everyone thinks "Keynote Speech" means "AMD showing off everything about them"....

Lisa Su will talk about the world we live in today and how its changing and how AMD fit into that world etc, she will probably mention some products, but you wont be seeing any hard definite info is my bet.

Im surprised so many people think a Keynote speech is someone standing infront of everyone selling their products...
