:)

What did I do? :p

- 3900x
- 5700XT
- 32gb CL14 3200mhz RAM (I know its price gouging money, but I want it)
- 1TB Gigabyte Aorus PCIE 4.0 NVME (probably a 2nd one straight away due to the access on the board, its on the back)
- Full custom WC'd loop, both GPU & CPU.

CPU & GPU are ordered pending stock. According to my local supplier I should have the GPU any day now and the CPU, well...maybe in the next week or 2 :p

Throughout August I'll get planning on my loop (as I'll have the GPU this gives me a true idea of how much space I have in the case) and be ordering radiators, fans etc. - after August payday I'll get the storage & ram. So in a month the rig should be up and running :)

Hey guys, am really getting tempted by a 3700x/mITX system but really gonna try and hold out for Zen3 if I can (8600k@5Ghz) as the most stressful thing I do nowadays with my system is gaming. Any hints as to when we can expect this yet? Not been keeping my eye on the ball regarding it tbh.

Zen2 launched literally 3 weeks ago. :p

Next is Zen2+ then Zen3, so maybe 2021?

That's a mighty spec for such an iddy-biddy board - but that Gigabyte board's credentials are great on paper - impressive little buggers.

Interesting to read you're going fully underwater and will be very interested in your resultant temps. The 3900X coupled with the 5700XT in a Duplo Brick sized build 'may' have had challenging temps - but a full custom loop will be great to follow given the interest in the board and especially the XT underwater (Didn't you purchase an EK Velocity block recently too? - Yep, just checked - still waiting for the money shot :p).

Do you plan on doing a Project Log(?) - as it would probably generate interest with the 3900X/XT underwater in a compact space. Plus, the board and component combo in general would be enjoyable to see develop.

Best of luck - i know of one forum member whose wallet will be flip-flopping when he see's those pics - especially with the thought of loops involved :)

(i reckon this will tip you, @tamzzy)

Yeah the Gigabyte range of boards REALLY caught my attention this time around and frankly nothing I have read gives me any doubts that this little laptop pcb can't handle it :) - I just love love the idea of such a powerful Team Red PC in a ITX format :) - I put the case on my desk earlier just to see the kind of footprint. You would almost mistake it for a large NAS :p :D

Case is a Fractal Design Define Nano S btw.

I can do a project log, sure :) - I will be photographing the full build as I go. Although fitting parts as they arrive as its all a bit disjointed but thats ok :)

EK WB is on order indeed. Due for release today! (well, the 26th) so hope to have that next week. Once its fitted and GPU in I can begin to plan the loop properly. Should be able to cram dual 280mm rads in there to give good temps :)

EDIT: Going for a mono style colour scheme, I love the idea of it being subtle. Apart from the GPU backplate which has that small red radeon accent on it. I'll allow that :)

I moved from 8600K @4.7Ghz to 3900X (untuned still).
Tbh feels better, even with that Mhz deficit. WOT a game that favours fast GPUs, and had to cap it with the 5700XT because was hitting 150fps.
EU4 feels the same so all the other Clausewitz engine based games, who are heavy single thread. I will update this post when finish installing ESO which is the go to benchmark for CPUs tbh
Because a 8700K @ 4.7Ghz + RTX2080Ti shows the same fps with a 8600K @ 4.7Ghz + Vega 64. 45ish in towns, and 100-144 in dungeons. (after you remove the 100 fps limiter on the settings).

Will the Nano S take a top 280mm rad with a front 280mm installed?

*Quick Google - may have to settle for 240mm top and 280mm front - but no loss - still a lot of cooling for confined space.

Thanks - and i'm a big fan of subtle/accented lighting with water (less is more type builds).
