AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

@humbug you forgot to mention that You are talking about bolts before or after vdrop. If after vdrop.ots useless as every motherboards llc behaves in different way if set on manual. So on 1 motherboard 1.35 after v drop will be 1.3 on other it will be 1.34 and on other 1.270.

Thats why i say people need to start talking about vilts under load after vdrop from VRM. Like for me on aito to have 1.35 after vdrop it takes 1.425 vcore great voltage for idle init??

my b450 does the same thing. If i want to overclock my 2600 to over 4ghz i have to push voltages above 1,4 in the bios which results in roughly 1,35 under load. the vdroop is maddening

I know thats when someone sayc X volts its TOTAL ******** as every motherboard 1.4 volts is different volts. You can only say to use those volts if someone is running same motherboard with same bios cause how LLC works changes even with Bios update.
@Illuminist have You installed HW info ??? Also You can use Ryzen master for Stress testing go to options anc change this **** around hardly think 30 seconds is any good stress test. 5 minutes well should do. Also yiu change to test not only CPU but Both cpu+memory that way imc if and cores gets tested not cores only

I have not installed hwinfo.
I was such a pro with my 2700x that I thought I could do this alone but i was wrong #helpmeface

without hw info you got no clue what voltage under stress you got on cpu simple as that.
You are interested in voltage SVI2 TFN when running aida or even ryzen master stress test. Then You know what actual volts go in to cpu. Thens et some descent LLC in bios lts say 1 click below max cause ddunno how vrms are on gigashite x470 board You got i know they had worst vrms out of x470s and with Yourrs cooling aim for 1.32 under load. once you got that set up work with all core multiplyer starting from 4300 in 25mhz up once you get reboot or crash drop to previous setting and stat longer stress test.

Yup, fair point :)

Thanks for that. What about hpet? Does that stay on or off, never knew tbh

My MSI Mortar B450 is being a PITA to boot (rig in sig).
It often has the CPU error light on when it won't boot (fans spin up etc).
I would say it boots on average 1 in 5 times I turn it on. When it boots it works perfectly.

Is this just due to immature BIOS revisions?

Just make sure you have plenty of air flow around Vrm's and don't overclocker it much you be fine.

yummy MM's :p only another 400+ post till I am in there:D

Well a quick update from me.

Getting nowhere with the dram calculator. I type everything in meticulously and well the PC is having issues booting past certain frequencies, failing to get to windows etc ect ect...

My most success is from setting the timings for the 3600MHz 8 Pack ram 16 16 16 16 36 changing the frequency to 3733MHz and setting the dram volts to 1.4v. SOC auto. Putting it on manual 1.1v seemed to be contributing to my issues when I was trying to use the dram calculator timings.

I can game on these timings. Time well tell how stable it is. The dram calculator just seems way off to me.

My whole system seems janky, it takes ages to boot into windows and to restart from it.
When I press the windows key I can't type anything to search.
When I click the search icon i can type 2 letters and then it stops.
On websites the pictures slowly load in.
What on earth is going on?

Have you reformatted windows or are you using windows from your HDD with previous hardware?
