AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

What are your settings! I want to copy them please
As i said im running 101.8blck multix43 vcore 1.35 volts with no vdrop SoC 1.112 with no vdrop depending on how good the 3900x is You got.. I got average one. You god cooling almost on pair with mine so i know You can run this also. HWinfo miss reads my Vcore by 60mv but I dont care :) Years with Crosshair motherboards learned me that what You set it gives. Readout from sensors and hwinfo is not super accurate. same as it reads 1.44 on my ddr when in reality its 1.425 :D
Been checked few times by few guys at OCN forum with DMM to confirm its sensor readout ******** hahaha

Atm im sitting on 24c on cpu :)

i dont play with Cloth. You could use microfibre towel if ya want i guess. But multiple kitchen towels always been my To go. Like 5 or 10 of them. And Im used to cleaning liquid metal and thats much worse to clean than normal TIM cause you need 2 use scrub pad almost identical to one i use for body filler on a car :D
Thinking now You could even use Mr muscle windows cleaner :)that would do the job :D not even joking hahaha.

I bet in Russia they just use VODKA :D

Trick is to not use dirty part and rub in stuff you want to get off. Thats why I preffer kitchen towels and use nail vanish like since forever :) Always did great job on any base of TIM.

This is proper CLEAN stuff. NAil Vanish is Acetone mixed with water FYI. Also fantastic for cleaning circuit boards if you want to solder somethin. You can thrust me I actually have degree in electronics :)used to design boards and make them from sheets of full coper coated boards.

Besides that Maybe You not messed up ?? Have You installed them klatest chipset drivers ?? They cut down idle temoperatures to normal levels afaik. Cause normally it pumps too much volts.
If You decide to re apply cooler and tim MAKE SURE bottom and top of cpu have good cioverage. I personally would go with 2 lines of normal tim. Top where Io die is and bottom where chiplet is.

But in reality this is BEST video obn the topic ever made :D

All I can say DONT go pea size with Zen2 you want to have corners nicely covered where dies are. Do X lines whatever to get full coverage :)

Ow messed up alright .... I fingered the thermal paste then bit of toilet roll got on it as I was wiping my hands with it so I used a screw driver to get it off.
The PC didn't post I thought the motherboard was faulty so I took off the heatsink...well slid it off only to put it back on and try again (I put the cables in the wrong header) and it worked.

I have some 3 year old artic silver I'm guessing should be ok to use?

Damn BOY now thats a proper mess. I dont think Toilet paper is good heat transfer material :D.
Ye if its been sealed it will be ok. If its bit HARD heat it up with lighter or dip it in cup full of hot water for few seconds should get 'softer'

I gotta admit You are brave to write this story down on forums. Real MAN will come clean when ***** up RESPECT :)

Yeah real screw up I was rushing to get it done before lunch ended up finishing hours after lunch lol, time for sleep now before I mess up this bios I will give it clean tomorrow.

I use pre injection swabs, work good for cleaning cpu but you do have to use a fair few.
I use the same for cleaning off TIM.

I've used nail varnish a number of times to cover SMDs on delidded CPUs, and this seems fine so far. It's from the same bottle of nail varnish though, which lasts ages if you're just using it this way. Gamersnexus and der8auer, amongst others, seemed to have used it this way without any issues. Obviously, this use case is not for cleaning off TIM.

That's why I assumed @Zeed must be referring to nail varnish remover, not nail the nail varnish itself.

I'll admit to using bourbon one night when i had nothing else to clean a cpu with.. :)

one of the reason why i don't like acetone is because it would cause irritation when exposed to fumes, specially if you are asthma sufferer.

never had problem with IPA based cleaners.
