Is it common for these 3rd Gen CPUs to have lower memory bandwidth results compared to previous gen?

I've moved from a 2600 to a 3600x and seeing less bandiwdth across the board, in userbenchmark at least. Running some more tests now, seems odd, I would've expected to at least see results the same from the previous CPU and not lower.

I think it's write speed where it's slower. As AMD took the decision to save some silicon for other parts of the CPU that would make a bigger difference on performance.

Decided to play around with my 3600X for a bit in Ryzen Master.
So far my fastest core has passed the Ryzen Master stress test for 4.525GHz at 1.425v.

Edit: failed at 4.55GHz.

The Fantastic random black screen crash that NEVER GOT FIXED. Some 290x cards had bios bug and would not boot up display or loose it if you reboted windows. This got sorta fixed with GPU bios update.. How many times have You updated bios on GPU ??

Mate your overclock is unstable. Not much else to say.

I work in IT, I know software isn't perfect. But to rule it out you run at stock. If you change 1001 variables and then experience instability and blame everything BUT the fact your pushing your hardware beyond spec, then well enjoy your instability.

Write speed is Halfed due to change of design and only on 2 Chiplet's You get back to what You had on Zen 1 and Zen+.

Have You changed run time of the benchmark ?? Or doing the mega quick standard one ?? 4.525 @1.425 is good.

Dead CPU socket in MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi.
Replaced with Asus Tuf X570 Plus Gaming WiFi.
I also RMA'd the 3600 and got 3600X instead.

OK, so tested each core individually in Ryzen Master. Each was capable of 4.5GHz with a stress test pass in that software.
One thing to note: with both CCXs enabled the second CCX cores struggled to hold the 4.5GHz primarily due to what can only be described as scheduling issues; they go into sleepwhen the first CCX fired up.
Re-tested with 1st CCX disabled and they hold the clocks fine.

Didn't realise there was a way of changing the stress test time in Ryzen Master.

Edit: found it. Changed from 30s to 180s and will test just 2nd CCX for now.

Edit: 4.45GHz was fine at 1.425v and 68C.
Edit2: 4.45GHz fine at 1.40v and 65C.
Edit3: 4.45GHz fine at 1.375v and 64C.
Edit4: 4.45GHz failed at 1.35v and 62C.

Back to ZX spectrum times and loading software from cassete DONT BREATH or it will crash and you are back to 15 minutes loading haahha. Used to leave room when stuff was loading

I bet cores went in t sleep mode and crashed when waking up or something hehe.

If You end up having problems after messing around do CMOS clear. One guy noticed that with ABB bios some settings get 'stuck' could be board specific.

Nah, was just my display not recognising a blue screen.
Gonna test all 6 cores at 4.2GHz+ next.
