AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Waterblock manufacturers are probably salivating at the concept of bringing chipset blocks and full cover motherboard kits back to the market!

The Asus Prime X470 Pro has a choice of up to 4200MHz for RAM freq in BIOS. My 3200 MHz has only gone as high as 3533 CL14 just for benching.

EDIT: 80 ns on that userbench mark. I get the same latency at 2400MHz.

Most boards do , both my x470 boards give me the option , but listed support for 4000mhz is only on the taichi , most if not all manufactures to my recollection advertise 3466mhz OC at maximum supported.

So boiz , 12/24 and 5ghz with a 15% ipc increase, place your bets
My bet is on a 12core piece to be 4,2-4,3 all core boost with single core boost of around 4,5-4,6. If that comes true and we get the 15% improvement to IPC on top of it i would certainly change my 2600 to a 12 core Zen 2 chip if my b450 can handle it. The only reason why I think we might see higher clocked chips in general is because TMSC's seems a more capable fab company than GloFO.

hope so yes in reality cant see amd pulling it off. i think they wont be above 4.5ghz and close on the ipc. if they can do 4.5ghz stock no stupid volts or heat issues got rid of the memory lottery then its amazing. really is going to be entertaining when real data hits as some in here are going to rejoice and some are going to melt. im personally interested in a 12x that can do 4.5 stock. hopefully that happens and the price is right.

I was thinking the 16/32 would be 4.5ghz coz.. cores , thats why i said 12/24 at 5ghz, its not an impossibility but still even if its the 8/16 it would be incredible.
Tbh I can get 4.5 on my 2700x under a custom loop at 1.52 although it still runs in the 80's its possible on this chip if its a good un so that why my thinking is of at least 4.7 for the zen 2

I'm just looking for the best 8c/16t chip out of the new Zen 2 bunch, regardless of whether its a Ryzen 5, 7 or 9 etc because, when I finally change from my nearly 8 year old i7 2600k @ 4.6ghz, I want it to be a CPU which lasts almost as long!
