We're seeing whatever clocks AMD are showing.

Means nothing to mean if 3900X is better than 3800X.
But I'd still expect the 3800X to win with higher clocks (*If* it achieves higher clocks)

2600x doesnt inherintly overclock any better than a 2700x , i expect the same to be here.

Not their stock clocks, their overclocking clocks 24/7.

3800X has higher overall all core clocks than 3900X.
However, it's entirely possible that when the 3900X is using 8 cores for example, it's running at 4GHZ. Which would negate that "stock clock" advantage of the 3800X.

Never took that into consideration before.

It isn't really, they trade blows back and forth. It's pretty much even overall.

Who buys a $500 processors for 1080p.... it will all be equal at 1440p and above. 3900x for the win.....
