AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

You said it yourself they didnt catch it SC, hence its not been caught, and SC performance is still king for gaming. Even on MC, an 8086k is a beast, I think people get carried away thinking just because a 16c chip is put on the market it immediately mans anything less needs replacing, that pure hardware addiction kicking in.

An 8086k clocked at 5.2 is going to least 4 years easily.

PS5 will probably be 8/16 chips clocked at around 2.4-3.4ghz with 1C or 2C not been used for games. Even then any PS5 games ported to PC will likely have a different threading model, e.g. FF13LR was multi threaded on PS3 and single threaded on PC.

So 40+ghz of cpu power on PC vs 18-21ghz on console.

And the 8086 costed about £400 though for a 6 core... For someone who already has it, Ryzen isnt going to look worthwhile unless they need the 8, 12 or 16 core variants.

O.o vs 6212 for a 9900K @ 5ghz?
This is my eventual chip (decided on 3800X for the moment). That's... pretty mental if true.
It... also sets the max clock headroom..? That's rather a lot.

Synthetics/etc. Yes. Before the usuals start up :)

Least by the look of it, in about a week, there's going to be a few folks compelled to shut the F up.

test FF13 lightning returns please. :)

Is cheap on steam.

Ballistic LT memory kits any good then? I've got a MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC on the way and looking at their compatibility list it's not listed. Will this be an issue with the new CPU's, I'm probably going to look at getting a 3600 or the 3700X.

Runs fine on mine mate, A-XMP profile 2 at 3200mhz, Not attempted to O/C it yet :)

The 5.2/5.3ghz 9900k I could find on geekbench scored around 7000 SC points

I think it's only fair to put them together at the same clockspeed, even though the 9900k clocks are on water while the 3950x is on LN2

The latency is still looking a bit weird, though it could be the board, bios, memory used, settings...

Weird how, do you mean high?
Terrible latency - 78ns
I wouldn't exactly say terrible, higher latency is the price you pay for going with a chiplet design but i wouldn't call an extra 20ns odd terrible, especially as the advantage/disadvantage of chiplets become more apparent with higher/lower core counts respectively.
