AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

So I see theres a nice bios update landed for my Gigabyte Gaming 5:

F40 - Update AGESA 1.0.0.2 for 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ CPU full support

I found the "full support" comment interesting, probably only looking at the 8 core myself but i wonder if thats supporting the 16 cores as well then. That'll make a few people happy if so I'm sure!
The top model those X370 Gigabyte hi-end boards will support is 12c/24t Ryzen 9 3900X. Still great, let's just hope the new Ryzens won't be too restricted in those older motherboards. You can find all the details in Support -> CPU Support on GB's website.

if it was they would have law suit on hands.... Kinda sold us AMD as being supported till 2020.

that was Selling point for me. If it was not the deal I would have went with Intel again.

CPUs will work in older motherboards however it's the advanced features like PBO and Automatic Overclock that may not be supported by older chipsets. We will see, based on comparison of X370 and X470 with R7 2700X that I saw somewhere on the internet the difference was negligible, almost non existent. So there's hope it will be similar with X370 and X570 as AMD themselves said you won't necessarily need X570 for Ryzen 3000s.

Who cares if the Core i9 9900K is ahead of a Ryzen 5 3600? You can get a Ryzen 5 3600 and a Vega56 for the same price as the Core i9 9900K.

If the Ryzen 5 3600 and Ryzen 5 3600X can trade blows with a Core i7 8700K,that would be a very nice CPU for the price.

Great point.

My only worry is if the 3600 falls apart in emulation software because its of decent value to me. My 8086k seems to get through CEMU BOTW at 4k 60fps most of the time, I'm keeping fingers crossed the 3600 or 3900x or whatever can do the same.

Guys.... REMEMBER TO CLEAN DUST FROM PC's or this can be YOU..... One year old LG OLED TV...... I guess My mate will be having unexpected Zen2 upgrade.... Lucky that it was just bstarting to burn when he came back from work or would have torched whole house !!!!

So it wrecked his TV as well or am I misunderstanding something?

You'd think someone with a watercooled rig would know where to position his case. It's got have some room to breathe, just common sense.

Wat. I can't see dust causing that. Most hardware has overheat/over current protection. Dust alone can't cause a PC to catch fire. I've seen PC's 3" deep in a thick layer of dust and swarf being used in workshops and none have ever caught fire.
