AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

If they don't actually launch til Sunday, I would've thought you'd be lucky to get one until the end of next week?!
I am in Portugal. :) - Much less demand here than places like the UK. I am confident I'll be able to walk in the store on Monday and pick it up :)

I'm considering getting HyperX Predator DDR4 3200MHz and running it at 3466mhz, as a lot of b450 boards support this speed. I've found it for £80 (16gb) in the UK so it's quite affordable. According to the review below, the RAM is likely to run upto 3500mhz:

Has anyone tried this before with the same RAM, or can you recommend similar RAM that will overclock to 3466MHZ or more?

UPDATE - I found some a Patriot 3400MHZ 16GB kit for ~£80 , which looks to be the best deal. Apparently it overclocks well too.
By some accounts/leaks ram speed has less effect on overall performance on Zen 2 then the previous generation so maybe wait for reviews and some user testing first. You might be better offer with getting ram that has lower latency.

That's weird, as I just checked and if I add a Ryzen 5 2600X to my basket (sold directly by the company) I have the option of delivery this evening, Monday July 1st.
That’s strange as I don’t get that option and I’m in an area with lots of same day deliveries. Tomorrow’s the earliest.

Looking forward to seeing proper benchmarks of a 3950X Vs 9700K and 9900K.

Will be great if AMD can pull punches with Intel again.

Still using a 6700K here, itching to upgrade but the jump to 9700K is minimal in the games that I play.

Ah yes, I see it now. Can indeed get delivery this evening on it.

So, we've clarified that the fact that "If they don't actually launch til Sunday, I would've thought you'd be lucky to get one until the end of next week?!" was a bit of a strange comment to make then? :)

Last time I ordered something on a Sunday from OCUK I got the item on Tuesday, I had ordered in the morning. If they open on Sunday for the release I will probably drive, otherwise I will get it online and hope to get it by Monday or Tuesday.

3950X is couple months away.
very curious to see non-all-core overclocking. Whether PB2/XFR can be massaged on lower models to get boosts in 4.5-4.6 range

payday in 5 days, 3900x and formula viii both on my list, may look at the hero as the formula is over £650 not sure yet which one i'll opt for cpu is a no brainer though

crosshair 7 x470 and save yourself a tidy some. Hero your looking at £350-420 . meant to be competing against x570 Master and that will top at £390

Sod it, bought the X470 Taichi Ultimate. I'm sure 10 GbE will be far more useful to me than PCIe 4.0 over the next ~5 years, and everything points to older chipsets not hindering CPU or RAM overclocking at all compared to X570. I believe AMD officially said something vague about performance not being affected at least, plus X570 isn't designed to replace X470, it's more of a new tier being added on top.

I was considering the X570 Hero or Strix, but decided to get a X470 Hero and be done with it. Its cheaper, and does the job since I honestly wont benefit from PCIE 4.0.
